Could've been refusing to pay for transition, or buy him another apartment, or send him back for more college, or anything really. My operating theory is something along the lines of: he was an extremely faggy straight guy who happened to also be a raging autogynephile, who "Chris-Chan'ed" himself into actually being gay once he got the chop. That's a bit convoluted, but noting about Miss'ippi John makes sense anyway.
