This. Because people automatically tune out anything that mentions Trump these days, they probably didn't listen to the announcements that the tax law changes were putting more money in most Americans' pay checks as opposed to providing larger refunds.

When one gets a large tax refund, there is a greater tendency to splurge or binge spend the refund on something that might not be useful or beneficial. Sure, some people save it or pay down debt, but the temptation is high to spend it on nonessentials before the money even arrives in one's account.

Getting a little bit more money each pay period however adds up at a more gradual rate. Seeing a little extra left over at month's end makes it easier to apply some of that to debt, investments, retirement funds, etc.

Large refunds generally result from having too much withheld. Unless someone is making six figures plus - or has a lot of self-employment or unearned income (such as income from investments or stock sales) that requires one to estimate the tax owed on that money - there's usually little need to have more withheld than necessary.

But it is really that surprising that Briana in one breath laments the lack of personal finance education while believing bigger tax refunds are better? :story:

I bet this dumb cunt pulled up to this protest in her Porsche, walked out, talked in her usual fake tone of trying to be sincere, saying "uh uh" as they answered her stupid fucking questions. Talked about herself, didn't retain and remember one person's name there, got a few photo ops and was gone within half an hour at most saying "well I hope it works out for you guys, vote for me I'll give everyone puppies and rainbows"
