A bit late but... fucking Snow Crash...

It's a fun book but... it's probably responsible for more cringeworthy nerd behavior than any other single piece of media.

At one point in 2015, both Wu and Zoe were riding around on motorcycles, wearing lether jackets, and pretending to be superhackers. The only thing standing between them and going Full Hiro was a fucking samurai sword, and only because neckbeards had already beaten that one into the ground.

It might have been written as a parody, but Snow Crash accidentally convinced a generation of shut-ins that they were just a punk affectation away from running shit, and this is the result. Neal has a lot to answer for.

Hey everyone,

Frank here, Brianna's husband. I asked if I could give you an update on our race in my own words.

I want to tell you why I'm so proud of Brianna, and why we're so well positioned to win in 2020.

Brianna's the strongest person I've ever known. She never backed down when Steve Bannon and Gamergate went after her. It was really hard seeing the woman I love get a daily barrage of death and rape threats, while getting bricks thrown through our windows.

But, she didn't just stand her ground, she decided to take that conviction and run for Congress. I know Bri will fight as hard for you in Washington as she fought for women in the tech industry. Oil companies have representation in Washington. So does Wall Street and the billionaire class.

Wow, Frank is more hysterical than John.

A barrage of death threats every day. A barrage of rape threats every day. Multiple bricks thrown through their windows. And Frank knows full well that not a word of his squeals of fake outrage is true.

He must be getting desperate to recover the $100,000 he lent the scampaign.
 
OK, I know some of you are on Bri's mailing list, can you share e-mail address it's going out from, I'd love to see how long it will take for the "team" to enter DKIM into DNS.

If that's the domain used in e-mail it relays on free hover hosting.

Setting simplest version of DKIM should not take anyone who knows what's up more than 5 minutes. I give 30 minutes for competent people who can use Google. You generate key, you put the key in your TXT field of a DNS entry for your domain.

Come on, Godzilla of Tech! You can do it!

For once we agree, John. And that openness starts with the candidate himself being completely honest about his history and character. Without honesty and transparency from our public officials, there is no hope of ever promoting public trust and faith.

So, John Flynt, here's your chance to either a) tell the truth, and correct the record about the well-documented public lies you've made, or b) double down and continue to lie through your corn niblet teeth like the sociopath you are.

You could start with telling your true personal history going back to childhood instead of the one you fabricated. You could stop lying about your trans status instead of it being the worst-kept "secret" ever. You could also explain your reasoning as to why you exploited the women workers at Giant Spacekat and screwed them out of their wages, only to rant on social media about women in tech being exploited.

Of course, this is all hypothetical because you're a compulsive and inveterate liar, and will never do the right thing. You see the problem here? The problem is you. You are a sterling example of why we can't have an honest government and why we can't have nice things.

Instead we should invest in Giant SpaceKat, a company that lost only three quarters of a millions dollars in three years and saved on overhead by hiring vulnerable female employees and hiring them after paying them $1.
