Damn, that's a pretty harsh take on a system that allows John to take in political donations and use them to go on holiday around the country under the guise of "campaigning". As well as buying toys and gadgets.

Seems like the system is anything but terrible for John.

On the other hand, any system that sees John outside a padded cell and under the care of a team of psychiatrists really is pretty terrible.

He's a completely true and honest politician that believes in the rules, that's why he said that there should be a change so that campaign finances could be spent on personal things.
 
Why wouldn't political candidates like raising money? Raising real money is fun (if you're the sort of psychopathic extrovert who likes interacting with people and doesn't mind lying to their faces, I'm not one of those people). You get to rub elbows with the elite, eat their food, drink their booze. If you're a Democrat, you get to hobnob with Hollywood celebrities even.

The type of people who get into politics and actually succeed at it don't mind raising money, and some of them like it. Even when they're not directly using the cash to benefit themselves, even when they're not raising the money for themselves, it feeds their egos to have rich people write big, fat checks. It's almost as good as actually getting elected to office.

Does Brianna even know any actual politicians?
 
You must be very stupid to say Warren’s lack of low dollar fundraising is a problem and then say her policies are interesting and she knows how to connect them to voters.

If she could connect to voters, she’d have donations! If her policies were interesting to the masses, she’d have donations.

John claiming that his high ethical standards prohibit his accepting corporate money is hilarious. He'd take it by the truckload if he didn't realize that a PAC would crucify him for spending its money on personal vacations, personal travel, tech toys, and random feedings at Potbelly's. It's a hell of a lot safer to swindle small donors who never look at his FEC filings.

"See you on election night!" - Wu is going on a well earned vacation until autumn 2020, but don't worry, campaign funds will still be used to pay for AltConf, Apple computers, potbelly, vanity events, tweet promotions to try and go viral and even more unused video equipment. People won't even notice that he's doing nothing at all, nothing at all, nothing at all...

I'd really like to see a source for John's repeated claims that political candidates who lose the first time they run usually win their second campaign. In my state we have several lunatics like John who run repeatedly for state and federal office. None of them have ever come close to being elected.

Plus Wu isn't just the common or garden nutter, she's got her real, actual past hanging like the sword of Damocles over her head that's going to drop if ever she gets successful enough for anyone to care. I don't really know how she expects to get away with her act in the long term. It's such a poorly thought out con that depends on its continual failure for it to remain undetected.
