I really wish John would stop talking about tech. Every thing he says is like hearing breaking plate glass at close range:

"We have GIT!"
"Do I need to install a BIOS?"
"Sounds like a great case for DEVOPS."

His monstrous lack of perception about political matters is laughable; politics almost exclusively draws ripe-sucks, idiots, hucksters, flim-flam artists and confidence men who are only just smart enough to skim the equally dim-witted electorate for a few bucks or megabucks so it's really no worse than you'd hear from any other failed low-caliber civil servant. But reading his dim witted word salads of technical issues is similar to what technical writing editors must have to face on an hourly basis should they die and find themselves in Hell.

This is how Wu has always been - use big words to sound like they're on the top of their game when in reality they don't know how how tech terminology works because they never actually ran a full fledged software development company - just screaming at a bunch of craigslist programmers to make a shit game.

Part of me wants to believe that all of the industry people that follow John read his tweets as if he’s a tech version of The Onion. I imagine they’re all sitting around at their desks Monday morning laughing their asses off at John’s idiot tech tweets and high fiving each other when they get him to reply to them with something stupid.

However, we know idiots at Apple and Microsoft have donated to his scampaign. I have first hand experience there are a lot of idiots in tech jobs.

In the real world, the one outside of John's head, nobody uses "For Immediate Release." Everything that is sent out is, by default, for immediate release unless it includes an embargo notice stating the date and time the material can be published or broadcast. And nobody puts embargoed material on social media. Because that would be exceptionally ruhtarded. I wonder if John passed a single journalism course in college.

I've seen plenty of "For Immediate Release" out there, mostly things for small companies & projects, stuff that generally is so small it doesn't matter or even rate coverage, stuff average people wouldn't give a shit about, from places small enough they don't really matter.

What "For Immediate Release" is is a flag for something with no real press department, no press contacts, screaming into the void "OH GOD PLEASE PUBLISH THIS OR SOMETHING ABOUT IT! SOMEONE, ANYONE, PLEASE! NO NEED TO VET THIS WE'RE MAKING IT CLEAR YOU CAN PRINT THIS! ITS FILLER FOR YOU PAD OUT A PAGE WITH IN EXCHANGE FOR PUBLICITY. NOTICE ME SENPAI!"

What is this, I can't even.

My lord. Brianna Wu's "When I am elected congress" tweets is like a magic eight ball. Shake it up and you get random answers.

We pretty much agree. I should have said that no one who understands how the news media works puts "For Immediate Release" at the top of a news release. It's a sign of either gross ignorance or gross incompetence or both. Also, news releases are sent to news organizations, not posted on bush-league social media accounts. John is like an eight-year-old playing at being a Really Important Politician.

How often has anyone in the media actually picked up one of Wu's For Immediate Release sperg-gasms and run it? I don't recall any but maybe I'm wrong.

Boo! Wu actually filed a corrected pre-primary before the deadline.

There's this note attached:

The correct number for both the total and net operating expenses CTD in this Report should be 102207.43. This document is submitted in response to a Request for Additional Information transmitted on 2/12/19, a response to which is due 3/18/19, making this response timely filed. The Request alleged that the beginning cash balance of the previously-filed 12 day pre-primary report (12P) did not equal the ending cash balance of the July 2018 Quarterly Report. In response, the Campaign notes that the cash balance reported in the 2nd Amended July 2018 Quarterly Report is accurate, and that number was used for calculations in the instant amended report. However, the previously-filed 12P incorrectly reported the total and net operating expenses for CTD, as noted in the previously-filed 2018 Year End Report, which cited the correct figure for the total and net operating expenses (which are the same figure): 102207.43. The Campaign notes that the figure for total disbursements CTD and other figures were correctly reported in the previously-filed 12P. The Campaign Treasurer avers that to the best of his knowledge and belief, these statements are correct, and the previous errors were unintentional and made without deceptive intent.

Convincing. Bonus points for "alleged", that's not going to piss anyone off at all. I always thought that it was BriBri that filed all these reports, but the pseudo-legalese here sounds very Frankian. I have the feeling that BriBri jetted off to the GDC and spent the boring hours while everyone else there actually attended the conference in a hotel room catching up on her Farms thread, read that she had a report to file and REEE'd at Frank long distance to get it done.

Of course, they haven't actually complied with the request which asks them to amend any subsequent reports affected by the change, which includes the October report which is still wrong. Honestly, there's so much wrong with every single report I wouldn't be surprised if they triggered an audit. It'd be quicker than chasing every single mistake individually for correction.

I’m still trying to figure out why John is blowing scampaign funds to attend GDC. It can’t be for the event he’s trying to use to scam game devs out of money.

Efit: Frank’s still the only one with a ticket to the scampaign event. No one else has bought a single ticket. John can’t read his followers or the gaming community because he’s not a part of that community. Frank’s bonuses and stock are keeping them afloat and allowing John to blow a ton of money in toys and games. Most gamers don’t have that level of disposable income and won’t spend $100-$1000 to meet a tenant wannabe game developer.

Looking at the way Wu's been tweeting at her ass patters, I think the whole "campaign event" thing is just a cover. Nobody who is going is actually going to give her money, she's just used campaign money to host a private party in the back room of a bar with her buddies and hangers-on. I think the whole purpose of the thing is to make Wu feel like a big shot. She's been hitting the whole fake engineer thing really hard lately with embarrassing attempts to try to seem like she knows what she's talking about, it seems like she's trying over hard to pretend like her whole life isn't a tissue of lies.

Well, at least there's some effort involved. Generally speaking, her fraudulent career has been covered up in the most half-assed of ways. Luckily for her, it turned out the media didn't even quarter-ass their background investigations.

Thing is, he’s been out of the game development scene for awhile now. Rev60 sped launched two years ago and since then nothing. His studio is dead, he has no new games, he’s nothing in the gaming world other than a consumer now. He doesn’t mentor anyone or give talks in anything other than “I’m true and honest woman who was harassed”. It’s all tired, no one fucking cares.

There are many other women who are actually working in development and actually doing things to help women in gaming or improve the industry. John is just a leach, a barnacle trying to desperately cling to an identity he badly wants.

I figured he was leaning back into the developer angle to compensate for the election loss. At least with that he can point at his whole one game he produced that barely sold anything and to date has still yet to be patched so you can complete the PC version.

LOL, she's still wearing the One True Politician dress at GDC. Get some different clothes, you savage.

I would love to have a friendly conversation with Brianna, and I honestly wish she would come to the farms and engage with us in earnest. Sadly I don't see that ever happening, though I do think it would be mutually beneficial. In a way we are her most dedicated audience. Maybe once she has burned her last bridge she will see that we are still here.
