He makes bold statements like this from time to time and I never quite know what to make of it. I think the simplest explanation is that Brianna is oblivious to how these calls for public figures to have their personal histories open to scrutiny could be applied to him.

So I'll spell it out for you, Brianna: if you think past statements can be held against public figures before they rose to prominence, then I guess it's okay for your opponents to label you a racist for calling that poor school paper editor a "sand nigger".

Because so far we have a piano playing grease monkey who can field strip a glock and specializes in car and motorcycle maintenance who is also a world class programmer, tech startup leader, feminist, politician, comic book writer, and 3D modeling expert.

Is there any skill which this modern Renaissance wuman does not claim to possess? Is she also fluent in Hungarian and a trained Krabi-Krobong fighter who studies marine biology on the weekends?

At some goddamn point, even her diehards have to wonder if she's full of shit, dear god.

Oh boy. Wu's GDC event has changed.

No longer Tuesday the 19th, it's now Thursday the 21st. Tickets are now in 4 tiers, starting at the original hundred bucks, going through "friend" at 250 bucks (But you don't have any friends, Brianna Wu), "Sponsor" at 500 bucks and the decidedly ambitious "co-host" at 2700 bucks (plus 172 dollar fee!) Each tier has 10 tickets available, and she may even have sold one at the lowest tier.

What the fuck. I can't imagine anyone wants to give 3000 bucks to spend 2 hours with Wu. In fact many people might pay that much just to avoid such a fate. What gives on changing the night of the booking? Did they just not confirm the thing before putting the eventbrite page up, or did they pony up a cancellation fee? Boy, Wu's accounts for this quarter are going to be fun.

I honestly think it's just sunk cost at this point keeping the die hard around. They came in during GG when they didn't know who Wu was, but knew they had to defend her from the dastardly googoogaga trolls and while they probably noticed some inconsistencies they weren't about to let the trolls win. Now they've spent so much time and energy they just can't stop cause that would mean they wasted their time and got conned by an exceptional gargoyle.

This is so typical of John.

Three months piano lessons in fourth grade -- if that even happened -- becomes "my training in classical piano," carefully phrased to mislead an idiot reporter or a moronic reader to report or believe that John is "a classical pianist." (Based on the first Twitter response, this deception has already paid off.)

N.B. -- I say three months of lessons because that's the longest period anyone could attempt to teach John to play a musical instrument before committing suicide.

ETA: Anyone who is, as John wants us to believe, a classical pianist, would have a piano -- a good one -- in their house. Based on the images he's posted, John doesn't even own a Casio keyboard.

I hate to be contrary, but what we're monitoring is the number John claims have been sold. First alarm bell: there's a limit of ten tickets at each level, but despite the sale of several reservations, ten remain in all categories. Looks like John is trying to prime the pump with fake sales.

Sure, I don't know how EB works. Can you change the number of tickets on published events? If you can, it might give us a false impression. If not, what's Wu going to to, spend that much money to wash it for a campaign avoiding the "husband borrowed me $50k" situation from 2018?

I believe Bri is exceptional enough to believe there's enough interest in her to pull 10 paypigs at 2.7k per pop.

I'm surprised Wu managed to get the tickets on sale a whole week before the event. Lazily throwing it up three days before it happens is more his style.


And he's still killing it with his banners. Instead of the dynamically resized 4500x2000 pixel banner, or however ridiculously huge it was, he used on his website he used this for the event page:
