I was looking up my old gamertag for xbox live the other day and thought I'd check if "spacekatgal" had a profile. Of course Wu had one. I looked through the games associated with Wu's profile and not only did I see Dead or Alive: Extreme Beach Volleyball 2 but this shitfest:

I've heard jack all about Anthem, but didn't EA just release Apex Legends to generally favorable reviews? 2018 wasn't exactly a bad year for games either, off the top of my head I remember Red Dead 2, God of War, the new Smash and Spider-Man getting positive buzz. And didn't KH 3 recently release to glowing reviews? It isn't uncommon for the big studios, especially EA and Bethesda, to have a few bombs, especially when said games have an obvious gimmick they're trying to capitalize on, in this case online multiplayer. I wouldn't say there's a new golden age of gaming or anything, but it doesn't feel like there's a decline either. If anything, it feels pretty average compared to the last few years.

They're complaining about the "games as service" model of games like Fallout 76 and Anthem. Any multiplayer game where you have to keep paying more and more money to buy in game currency to be able to play more content.
They're right, paying $60 and then paying again and again to unlock new character classes or guns or outfits or whatever is bullshit. It only works with games like Fortnite and Apex Legends because the base game is free. Thank god Fallout 76 and Anthem flopped hard, maybe publishers will start realizing that this whole business model is tarded.
