He's right to be pissed off. Reporters had to have known Wu was running a scam after they tailed her on the campaign trail, yet they only made the most veiled references to what they knew.

They knew John was a scammer, but they also knew he was a vindictive tranny, so they covered for his scam to avoid losing woke points. Fuck these people.

Totally agree. It's like they're waiting on someone else to make claims about Wu so that they can then investigate and report on the validity of those claims. Part of it's laziness, part of it's not wanting to be attacked. Typical journalist bullshittery. They don't want to investigate and report, but they're more than happy to write a "Questions Raised About Congressional Candidate" article once a reliable third party makes an attack, even though the article is basically just an amplification of the original attack. Then they're just "reporting" on it.

I think they're renting.

Yah, they are. Wu said in one of her recent interviews they were going to be buying a house next year. Whether that's actually true I'm not sure. I can't work out Frank's finances. If Wu's congressional financial disclosure is accurate, BriBri seems to spend something like 75% of his salary on toys.

Frank's chief asset is something like 10K shares of Wave Life Science which I presume he got as a signing bonus when he was hired back before their IPO. I don't know if he previously owned more stock and cashed out some when they floated, maybe he got a big payday back in 2016. Hanging on to the shares seems to have been the smart move though, they're worth like 3x the IPO price today.

It's still not retire to a tropical island money though. Seems like Frank would still be paying off a mortgage after he retires.

I forget when but Brianna complained that because of rising house prices (which are all Stephen Lynch’s fault), they can’t afford to buy. She tweeted that right after humble bragging about her Porsche’s.

It doesn't help that John is the definition of a carpetbagger. It's not as bad as some of the stunts we've seen where some ambitious pol sets up shop in a state they've never lived in to get elected to the Senate as a stepping stone (ahem, *Hillary*), but finding a new home in the district after announcing the candidacy stinks to high heaven.
Remember when he stumbled and tried to dodge those questions in an interview early on about not living in the district?

Lynch did his job for a year and a half, you mental midget. Then, closer to primary season, he saw a veteran not doing anything and a lake monster shooting itself in the foot repeatedly. So he thought "back to work" and went about the rest of his day.

Talk shit all you want on Twitter, buddy. It doesn't hide the fact that your "wife" failed at being a politician almost as hard as he fails at being a woman.

There's a little thread of it, which is kind of fun.

I really hope this perception spreads amongst MA residents. If Wu is really serious about running again, interesting things might happen.

lol I love when I see someone like this and just know that he's read this thread. Even if most publications won't cite us (a few will, of course) the stuff that people here dig up on Wu's scammery gets out there.

Further supporting this point: I just found out that a relative in MA whom I respect and consider immensely intelligent donated to the campaign. Why? Well, thank the Twitter stump speeches and the fluff articles from trusted newspapers and sites.

If the press had been remotely honest and asked real questions of Wu, she wouldn’t have received nearly as much in donations as she did.

I’ve always laughed at the far right for their paranoia about the media, but as others have said, Wu’s wooing of journalists is proof that respected publications didn’t do the bare minimum in ensuring accuracy. It really shatters the image the heroes of the field cultivated decades ago.

I especially loved it when Brianna used to say they would reveal their address "after the election", further showing her complete ignorance of how to run for office.

This right here could not more clearly state "I take local politics insanely seriously" any more, even if he had literally typed out the sentence "I take local politics insanely seriously"

He also gives out more solid info about his childhood in that one sentence, as opposed to Wu's multiple choice pasts of being a rich white girl at Space Camp in Florida or a poor black girl watching her friends get molested at summer camp in Mississippi.

wait he's actually claimed to be black?

honestly, someone from out of state gets a lot of suspicion in massachusetts politics, even someone from another town. i was at a community meeting once where they were talking about a new condo project (good irl lulz, go to them), and they asked the developer where he was from and he said the next neighborhood over, and they told him to go back there. i'm a bit of an ayanna pressley skeptic 'cause she's from chicago myself, and in my state rep race one of the candidates moved here from another neighborhood so i didn't vote for her because of that. if there's anyone yankees especially don't trust it's white southerners, and i know he's obtuse about his background, but there's no way he doesn't have at least a hint of a southern accent. if he says 'traffic circle' instead of 'rotary'...

A certain class of journalist loves the idea of Brianna Wu. The handful of journalists who have met Brianna in person and spent time with her actually balance out the idea with practice.

Forget the exact site and too lazy to dive for it, but there was that one Wu profile from a while back that, although balanced well enough, was one long sigh of "Really, she's the best we can do?"

No. He's a patent agent. He's also chief something officer for IP at the place he currently works, a startup pharma company, and has worked for some of the big names, too. While he isn't a lawyer, he makes more than the average lawyer by far.
