Hey, don't dig on John! The entrenched MA Democratic Party, the townies, the old money, the multi-term congressmen, those were just too strong a force to overcome. And as a woman, or a minority, can you imagine dislodging part of that machine?

Lynch's total percentage (so far) is low enough that I wouldn't be surprised to see him retire in 2020--in which case Brianna would try and take credit for it, even though most of her voters probably voted against Lynch, rather than for her, and picked her because she has a female, Asian name--or draw an actually serious primary challenger, in which case, Wu would be lucky to do as well as Voehl is so far. Lynch retiring could give Bribri an "out" ("I stopped Lynch, so I can move on because I'm stunning and brave, Twitter") if she decides she doesn't want to be humiliated again.

Capuano had to campaign because he had a serious opponent. Neither Wu nor Voehl was serious., so Lynch didn't have to. If the numbers stand, though, it will raise some flags.

it's a pretty conservative district (for massachusetts), and you know you're not gonna get a lot of national funding since it's a very safe dem seat

Wu getting any votes may seem weird but it makes sense when you think about it. What do you think of voters with "average intelligence" that you see walking around? Take that evaluation, and remember that half of voters are dumber than average.

We already had a story of one vote for Brianna because the guy literally thought he was voting for an entirely different Wu and couldn't spend the 30 seconds to figure it out.
 
Wu said in Vox that she started the Blue Wave, but she's about the only one of the insurgency candidates that didn't win.
It's almost like she just glommed on a general national mood for the asspats.
 
Now Wu stands at a crossroads, move on to the next scam and use this as some sort of prestige in whatever scheme she chooses while ignoring the details like she did with Rev 60 and it's sales numbers or does she move to the second round like she did with Rev 60's pc port? I certainly hope she tries again, after all its only 2 years and we know Wu loves the long cons.

Couple of notable things. Wu is apparently "openly queer." I think her chimpout at the WaPo says otherwise. Also, she spends a lot of the article crying over Evelyn but completely forgot her name. :story:@Kroster says Evelyn is real person based on information she's in a unique position to get, so I guess that's confirmed, but boy is it a shitty move to exploit your dead friend while simultaneously forgetting what's she's called.
