They've know that forever. During the campaign it was about pushing a narrative. Brave women politicians, blah blah blah. Now they're just reporting actual facts of an ongoing election. There isn't some newfound integrity. John was never even an upstart contender warranting all the press he recieved. Some people got annoyed with him and gave him some backhanded press. Next election cycle it'll be the same shit on the off chance he hasn't gotten bored and moved on. The Boston Globe might even give him another chance too because fuck it why not?
She should drop out.
Literally the only good article that has been written about the campaign lately is from Vox. Completely irrelevant Vox.

I guess I don't think we're really saying much different. You just pointed out that during the time that counts they didn't say positive things and I haven't paid too much attention to the press he's gotten during this final run up to election day or thought it was that bad considering what it should be. They used him to push a narrative and then when it was time to get to it they dumped him because he was never a serious candidate. If he's around next time they'll do the same shit.Despite the media narrative about "year of the woman," Wu has not been given any pass by the political press over the last month, and the last 30 days is the only time it matters.
Outing someone as transsexual, using an old, terrible photo in a candidate profile (just days after being professionally photographed by the exact same organization), and an extremely passive-aggressive article in what is normally a puff piece is not "reporting the facts." That's aggressive derision.
That doesn't even mention that 95% of the political press is outright ignoring Wu or merely adding a blurb to pad out a story, and the other 5% says Wu has no chance. Even Kotaku has a derisive tone now - "Game Developer Brianna Wu's Very Long Shot For Congress"

Let's cut Brianna some slack. Having your penis hacked up into some sort of festering open wound can be very traumatic.5 or 6 Flashbacks a day? Poor Brianna sounds like she's not well at all! I hate to say it friends but I worry the job of brave motorcycle enthusiast and congresswoman may be too much for our girl.
She should drop out.
It's today?! Oh, I am SO excited to watch this smackdown, one Wu so desperately needs. I can NOT wait.
His address was public the minute he submitted paperwork to run for Congress. For someone who's "truly terrified" of being harassed by marauding Gamergaters, and who was death-threatted into leaving home in 2014 (allegedly), she's awful quick to post an image of a ballot paper with her actual real address on it.
Even if god hates us so much that Wu wins, keep in mind that there is no way that batshit insane troon will handle the responsibilities that come with being in Congress, so no matter what happens, Wu won't be happy.
Can't even wash your hair on election day, well shit.View attachment 534266
Why didn’t the globe use this photo?
It seems to me that if elected Wu would quit before the end of the term, citing harassment from colleagues on the Hill and from constituents. And the media. And gamergate.
