Correction: An early version of this story said that Brianna Wu is transgender. The Wu campaign has reached out to us to clarify that the 6’7” delusional man in the ill fitting unwashed dress prefers to self identify/role play as a woman. We wish candidate Wu the best of luck in his election.

Oh, there's no way John's thrilled with that retraction. I'm sure that writer is getting another strongly worded DM.

If the final stretch of this campaign somehow manages to end with Wu's most sacred lie being publicly shattered, I don't know what I'll do. I don't think the alcohol around the house is anywhere near fine enough for celebrating that kind of occasion.

John Flynt being forced out of the closet -- blowing who knows how many thousands of Frank's dollars along the way on Porsches and other toys, not to mention the thousands of dollars complete morons donated to this campaign -- would make this entire ridiculous charade totally worth it.

I just wonder if he'll be savvy enough to make himself a martyr out of it ("No one should be forced to speak publicly about this, but I, stunning and brave Brianna ... etc. etc. ..."), or if he clings to the fantasy so fiercely he just rages in private and backchannels.

Hahaha that’s worse than before and still affirmation he’s a tranny. “She identifies as a woman” vs “is a cis woman and totally not trans”.

Dave and John had a conversation that John doesn’t identify as trans but can’t call himself a true and honest woman.

Yeah, “identifies as a woman” is almost codespeak for “fucking lunatic! Do not vote for!” Does anyone get the impression that many individual journalists know Wu is a complete fraud, in every way possible? And while they aren’t allowed to say so directly for fear of Social Justice, they are sticking the knife in, in any way they can. After 4 or 5 years of Wu watching, one pattern becomes apparent. Nobody, and I mean nobody, likes Wu for long. And no liking of Wu survives contact with Wu himself.

So I guess the personal history of candidates should be off limits when it comes to troons because being 'outed' or 'dead named' or whatever is politically incorrect? I know that's what John wants, but I don't think he'll get sane people to agree. The voters have a right to know a candidate's history, and news outlets have a responsibility to report that history (hypothetically, I know).

If anything, John has already benefited from journos ignoring the trunkless elephant in the living room because they didn't want to appear "transphobic" or "further victimizing someone who is already the biggest victim since the Shoah".

I just love that, a year or two ago, John imagined today would be his glorious triumph; the apotheosis of the Age of Brianna as the people finally give her her due and elevate her to Congress, well on her way to -- dare I say it? -- Senator, or Governor ... or ... or ... oh, squee!

Then as the campaign fell apart, I'm guessing John resigned himself to losing, but being able to call himself a "Congressional candidate" in every stupid article or podcast he shows up on for the rest of time, and maybe assaying a biannual campaign to keep his profile high.

Instead, September 3 2018 is going down in infamy as the day his obvious and laughable gender scam blew up in his fucking face. Pop the champagne, kids.
 
The last two weeks of this scampaign have been hilarious. Three articles come out showing Wu in the worst light (that mainstream media will allow). Fucking comparing herself to soldiers who went off to fight in WW2. Taking two flashy cars to “meet with voters” and she can’t even get her phone to work. And the #thathappened catcalling story. Pure gold.

A year ago media outlets were fawning over the idea of her getting elected and how she bravely fought gamergate and won. The only friend she has is Frank, the dogs and some whacko names Brian Riccio who has a hardon for her and tried to get Warren fired. This truly is the best timeline.

It's following a predictable pattern. Early in R60's development, Wu was supremely confident she was going to win GDC and have the biggest hit indie game of the year, if not the decade. Then gradually all the enthusiasm wound down to the point where it was only Frank's intervention that saw the game released on steam at all.

I'm sure Social Unconscious Productions followed the same pattern, only that time it ended with a drug binge.

We're seeing the same now. Wu's totally checked out, and Frank's doing his best to drum up whatever support can be had. She won't do this again, no matter how much she says she's going to. It's already not gone the way it was supposed to in her mind.

(Also, election is tommorow. We've still got 24 hours left of congresswuman BriBri.)

I actually do wonder how open John is about the trans thing in his "backchannels". At least on places like Twitter, I suspect he outright tells them "Maintain my charade".
 
The funniest part is that most people who know her are probably going to react by saying "that was a secret? I thought it was obvious."
 
Hey y'all, just wanted to make my first post and say thanks for all the lulz. Been following this thread since at least post 1500 or so. As an MA resident, watching the Wu campaign crash and burn has been hilarious.

I'm gonna go ahead and say that there was probably some huge reeeeeeing in the DMs, enough that it convinced the WaPost to comply with malice.
Do not be rude to journalists, for they are quick to anger and not subtle at all.
