John has already laid the groundwork for continuing the scampaign for another two years.

He's flat-out stated that he'll run again.

What John says and what will happen are two completely different things. I know he claims he’ll be back, like a tranny terminator, but it’s not going to happen. He’s burned all his bridges and good will in the progressive community. Everyone knows what a pain in the ass he is to work for and word spreads quickly among politicos and supporters. There are whisper campaigns about avoiding Brianna Wu floating around. He might be able to con some saps again but no one who would be in a position to help him mount a serious challenge to Stephen Lynch will help him. He also has no fucking money unless Frank doesn’t get paid his $50k or throws more money away on the machinations of his tranny trophy.

Brianna Wu, as a political candidate, is completely done for. He may think that 2nd time runners win statistically but those candidates are professional politicians who don’t blow their campaign funds on video equipment and potbelly. They have good people willing to work for them. He was told how to do things at the start and chose not to listen because he’s a narcissist who thinks he’s smarter than everyone else.

Politicians who want to win actually do outreach, actively work for endorsements, call constituents and earn their votes, prove they’re serious about solving problems and have actual policies they can speak about. They’re not tone deaf morons driving up to constituents in a Porsche, bragging about buying Porsche’s, telling people they are well informed on the plight of poor working class people and will help them.

John thought playing video games would help him but the constituents want him to play golf. That’s what a completely delusional idiot Brianna Wu/JohnFlynt is.

KF's resident floating professional campaign staffer checking in. In short, as others stated, yes, but not to the extent Wuwu implies. Just look at Trump's 2016 effort--there were far fewer "professionals" than any other modern presidential campaign, mostly because no one wanted to work for him. It's certainly common to have friends and family members working on your campaign, but, unless they're relatively experienced, doing so becomes more of a disadvantage the higher you go. That being said, even the best staff couldn't get Brianna Wu to Congress. "The best" wouldn't want to work for Wu, though, for all of the reasons documented here and elsewhere (maybe if Frank could somehow come up with several million, then consultants could milk them like they did to Sean Eldridge--which was fucking hilarious--but they'd still lose).

"Getting to know you" races are a perfectly valid strategy (even residual name recognition from a failed campaign, which is generally the worst-case scenario, can add a point or two), but, like with anything else, Brianna fucked it up. Rule number one if you're doing this is don't make an ass of yourself.

Abso-fucking-lutely. It's not even like working for someone like Roy Moore or Joe Arpaio, as there are enough wacky bible thumper types out there that you could still get work in those circles. There would literally be nowhere to go afterwards.
 
I fully expect some sort of profound statement like, "I didn't get chosen this time, but I made a huge difference and pushed my opponent towards progressivism. This is actually a huge victory!"
