wu's facial movements consistently reminds me of the jaw-locking and facial malfunctions that antidepressants can cause as a side effect
surely this is just a silly coincidence as brianna is a perfectly sane well-adjusted person

It's mostly old school antipsychotics like Thorazine that cause tardive dyskinesia.

Maybe John's cut-rate feminizing facial surgeries like the cheek implants left some lasting nerve or muscle damage that renders him incapable of forming normal facial expressions

You guys are honestly saints for even trying to come up with an explanation for this that isn't social retardation.

If John's history wasn't so well-documented I'd almost be inclined to say that the utterly bizarre shit he does is the result of a brain tumor or something like that, but as it stands I'm sticking with the tard explanation.

I have to think that comment Ayanna made about changing outfits was a subtle dig at John. @W person cow confirmed people have noticed John wears the same outfit to every event so I’m sure that’s gossip making the rounds amongst other candidates running in MA (also to steer clear of him and not to endorse).

Also, I’m sure Ayanna has no respect for John because he’s making a mockery of running for Congress, being a women, claiming to have a career as an engineer/journalist, and making asinine comments about racism and the KKK in Missippi when he’s a 6.5ft tall white ghoul.

Ayanna must have been pissed having to share a panel with him. It’s embarrassing to have someone like Ayanna Pressely, a Black woman who’s worked hard to get where she is, share a panel John Flynt, a white man who’s never worked hard a day in his life, and suggest they’re equals.

I think she’s too busy and focused to notice or care much about anything Brianna does.

Gossip circles run hot and heavy in politics. I would be surprised if she didn't know how much of a joke John is. I'm also sure she takes John about as seriously as Lynch.

John Flynt, the Batman of insurance claims.

Also the Batman of Internet speed throttling.

All I get out of this is that neither the IT staff at Mendocino, nor the people who handle their contracts, were able to read the very prominent notices on Verizon's account pages that tell you once you've maxed out your fast data, you get pushed to the slow data plan. If you need more of the fast data, you have to buy a more expensive plan.

This was announced by Verizon numerous times in emails as well. How is it Verizon's fault that the customer refuses to pay attention? They even send you an email when you've only got 10% left of your fast speed data. (Of course you have to set that up on your account page, but it's not exactly rocket surgery, as Ricky says.)

Verizon also lets you look at historical usage, so Mendocino could have easily looked at what their usage was running at, and adjusted their plan accordingly. I guess that's too complicated for mere government drones to understand or something. Better to blame Verizon than your own people who failed to do their job.

No, the only answer to this problem is to expect the California Nanny State to fix it for you.

Verizon is evil as fuck, but this isn't them throttling bandwidth for content that they disagree with politically or (more likely) that's from a competitor, which is what all the net neutrality complaints were about.

This is about you getting the amount of bandwidth you pay to get. Don't pay for the high speed unlimited plan? Well, you don't get high speed unlimited Internet.

The government is a consumer just like any other and has to pay for shit just like you or I do.

So what John is saying in his idiotic tweet is "if I am elected" (which is as :optimistic: as "when I'm Queen of Abysinnia"), he'll make sure the government can get services from your business without paying for them.

edit: ^ This is correct. I know we're all shocked that the godzilla of tech fucked up understanding a simple concept.

This is also a case of Verizon likely employing gives-no-shit street-shitters, because anyone with any common sense would know this is the shit you escalate to the shift supervisor, who escalates to his management, until it gets to someone who understands that you temporarily lift the cap to prevent the impending PR-nightmare while giving them some time to sort the billing, and the authority to make it happen.

You're right that its not Verizon's fault that someone in Fire Department fucked up and didn't read things they were supposed to, this is one of those times where you eat $20 worth of billing now and avoid the negative press; plus if they don't take the opportunity to actually correct the problem, you now have a recording of your staff explaining to them very clearly and carefully "We are doing this now so grandma doesn't die in a fire. If you don't upgrade your plan, this is going to happen again and its not going to be our problem because its been very clearly explained what the problem is, why it happened, and what you need to do to keep it from happening again".

so when they do nothing to fix the problem, they can't claim clauses hidden in the fine print.

Oh man. Jesus Christ. Imagine being in the front row and knowing that, at any minute, John could suddenly shift his weight a little in his chair and you could possibly get glimpse of the unholy carnage that is whatever remains of John's reproductive organs. Truly ghastly.
Something very like that happened.

At the risk of powerleveling, I worked over a decade for the government, and we had "mission critical" communications that used national and local telcos.

When we encountered a disruption or failure, our contract managers (as well as rank and file who used the systems) had the phone number of someone at each of the telcos where they knew they could talk to a human immediately who could fix it -- or knew who could -- if only temporarily.

But what catches my eye in this scenario is "My Information Technology staff communicated directly with Verizon via email about the throttling...". Wait a fucking minute. You maintain that lives are at risk because your data speed dropped, so you sent an email? You. Sent. An email. [facepalm]

In private industry you'd be fired for that level of incompetence and lackadaisical attitude toward fixing the problem.

No doubt, Verizon are total bastards and should have immediately given them the speed they needed, with the proviso that they upgrade their data plan within x days to prevent recurrence. But it's scarily inept that Mendocino FD (and god knows how many other municipalities) are run this sloppily, given that they're in the business of saving lives.

It's true. She got overhyped by Ayanna Pressley and completely forgot she was cosplaying a woman for a few moments.
If she'd been wearing sensible clothing it wouldn't have mattered, with the miniskirt.... well, :horrifying::horrifying::horrifying:

This is assuming the problem hasn't been vastly exaggerated in the twittersphere by mongoloids like John. It sounds like it may have just been a minor inconvenience that happened to involve a fire department.
