Outside of the fringe circles that Wu frequents, most people aren't caricatured "Nth Wave Feminists", and I don't think we should let those people poison the well. Back in reality, someone who's a hardliner on every tenet of "Feminism By The Book" is just as weird as someone who is militant for every single plank of the Republican or Democrat party platforms, or for every bit of Catholic canon law. It may be optimistic, but I think most people are still reasonable.

For some time now I've had the feeling that something big happened to then-Flynt in 1998, that particular year seems to be the center of his "teens" more often than other years(either explicitly mentioned or the time can be accurately derived from the topic). Was it in '98 that he first got a taste for long pig, the man meat?

Something that has stuck out for a long time has been his claim of obsessively drawing sailor moon when growing up(as a teen/girl), we know the years don't match up and I think I've already made a post about this but when did Sailor Moon get really big and started airing reliably in the US?

It was first aired in 1995 and according to Wikipedia:

it started airing in September and production(translation/dubbing/cutting) stopped in November because no one watched it and it's :optimistic: to think that Wu would be awake/aware of it when it aired.

The rest of the timeline is:
In 1997, re-runs of this cancelled dub began airing on USA Network. That same year, production on the series' English dub was resumed with the last 17 episodes of the second season, Sailor Moon R, and was broadcast in Canada from September 20 to November 21, 1997 to wrap up lingering plot lines.

On June 1, 1998, reruns of the series began airing on Cartoon Network's weekday afternoon programming block, Toonami. Due to the success of these reruns, the remaining seventeen episodes also aired on the block. [then the rest got dubbed/aired]

Snow Crash is a sci-fi novel that correctly predicts how internet will blow up (in 1992!!), and at the same time describes a dystopia where United States as we know it no longer exists. States are divided into hundreds of small enclaves governed by various entities (corporations and nationalities). It happens to be one of my favorite Stephenson novels (but at least not the favorite book of all), it's fast paced, and at times funny, but no, it's not portrayal of anything but exquisite imagination of the author!

I've never installed a nitrous system, but my understanding is that it's not part of the "purge" / exhaust but the intake. You put in nitrous with the air because nitrous is very inflammable. This will increase the amount of oxygen that you can pack in there before it ignites, creating more force and thus higher speed. Right?

Nos isn't street legal but John isn't fitting proper nos. Its just a co2 purge kit so he can imagine he has it.

If you're fitting proper nos you need to have a big overhaul of the engine and install stronger aftermarket parts. Nos is apparently also a ballache to balance and maintain, and can pop your engine in a heartbeat.

All those aftermarket big plans are only legal in a car meet, and using them on the roads can land you in deep shit.

Question for car people - is there anywhere that would let you use the kind of "spy gear" Wu is fantasizing about installing? Seems to me that even if you paid for time at a track or similar, no one would want any part of smoke clouds, homemade NO2 injectors, ejector seats, or any of those elaborate suicide enhancers.
 
Nothing screams "as your congressional candidate who cares for our shared environment" than needlessly squirting CO2 into the atmosphere while revving your 4ltr engine.
