We definitely need to add to John's timeline that he claims to have spent the entire summer of 1991 grounded in his room after sending 800 emails to another guy with whom he was involved -- at age 13 -- in a gay email relationship, despite John's being a girl at the time.

How this was deduced: Prodegy began charging 25 cents for every email over 30 in a month in January of 1991 but eliminated this charge before the end of the year.

I'm still standing by my position that both Wu and Voehl won't get anything but random protest/goof-off votes, and Voehl will have a very slight advantage over Wu due to coming first alphabetically.

This story makes no sense what so ever. Almost every aspect of it is incongruous.

I first got on the internet proper in 1994, which is about the time the UK's first real consumer friendly ISP started operating. Originally we had a 14K modem, which was absolutely the standard at the time. You could probably still buy 2400bps modems for use with some finicky and ancient TTYs that had no serial port rate negotiation, but they would have been niche and expensive in 1991 when Wu's story is apparently set. It's pretty unlikely that Wu would be working with gear a decade or more old at that point. I'm almost certain Wu harvested this detail of her story from the Prodigy wikipedia page, without really considering the context.

Then we have this idea that, at the age of 13, Wu was hard gay. This flat contradicts the witness of Wu's ode to John which has him attracted to and dating women and flat out says that attraction to men came only after he started HRT.

Also Wu has never before mentioned any formative PC gaming. About the earliest games she's ever sperged about are final fantasy. It's almost absurd to think of attention deficit Johnny Flynt getting in to a game like Ultima 6. That she describes being able to bang a male hooker as a male character is "a queer romance" tends to add to the impression she's never played it.

Probably more of BriBri's tall tales. Doubtless there's some underlying truth that gives structure to her narrative, but all the concrete points are likely bullshit.

The woman in question did a play-by-play of how, after she switched seats with another woman, that woman and the man she was now next to hit it off and seemingly wanted to date after the plane trip. She didn't include photos of them; the media is regarding it as a meet-cute story. The guy's been identified, the woman hasn't (by her request, apparently).

Wu and others are in sanctimonious overdrive about how horrible it is to, uh, observe the people in the seats in front of you on a plane. It's the same thing the usual suspects do any time someone uses the internet to document what other people are doing in public, acting shocked that anyone would ever do such a thing. They seem to think it's the same thing as doxing, even if there are no or few identifying features.

Eh, there isn't too much to that story, and it doesn't seem like it was some traumatic experience for that girl. It's not like she straight up molested her. It does show BriBri as being hypocritical and willing to put her "values" to one side when she's thirsty, though. But then again I'm sure most people here already knew that anyway. I wonder if she'll address it.
