Flu has always been of the opinion that you need to burn money for only THE best on the market as soon as something better comes along. Even back in the milsaps days, John wrote an editorial bashing the math department for not having THE cutting edge computers even though they'd just upgraded the previous year.

What Flu fails to grasp, which is a sure sign that they are not an expert when it comes to computers in the slightest, is that the desired performance of the computer has to min-max resources. If it needs an amount of resources like memory and processing power, then you give it that stuff, but you don't go in excess of those limits any more than necessary. The name of the game is efficiency, not dick-waving because you have the best shit before it's even been fully broken in and patched correctly. If you can get a job done with less expenses in both processing and cost, then why would you splurge on something that has higher processing at higher cost when you're never going to use it?

Hell, a couple years ago at my college I overheard a couple middle aged men talking about John. One said "I know Brianna, and she's very talented and resilient and doesn't deserve the harassment she gets."
Glad his facade of sanity cracked just enough to show the public the derangement hiding underneath.

The irony of all this is that he loves Nintendo Switch, a device with components that would be considered obsolete 10 years ago. But for John it's still a massive technological achievement just because it was released last year.

Of course she has to think that. Comparing switch games to R60, which run on very similar hardware (albeit the later with about 20 layers of pointless adaptation between the software and the hardware) it makes her look incompetent. The Nintendo Switch hardware was released the same year that R60 was, and if you compare something like Breath of the Wild to R60, even discounting the defects Wu's horrendous taste and lack of artistic skill caused, they're generations apart in terms of graphical fidelity.

Meh we always knew that Frank would have to shell out more money to get Johnny on the ballot. There never was much of a chance of it happening organically.

When I think about how much money the Wu's waste in stupid shit, I gota wonder what is Frank's long term plan. With his income he should be looking forward to a very comfortable retirement but instead he's choosen to throw it all away to just to satisfy the craving for attention that Johnny suffers from. A craving that no amount of money could realistically fill anyway.

Johnny wont be satisfied with anything less then being a household name across the country, he's gota be the next Kim Kardashin or bust.

A metaphor that might work that’s in line with Johns narrative might be along the lines of “being the clown on the dunk tank platform doesn’t make you an ‘expert’ on pitching,” but since we know how much harassment he directly instigated or fabricates, I guess one could say he’s somewhat knowledgeable in the field.
 
Wu has been in Seattle the past couple of days to do this event hosted by Microsoft and also having a fundraising party at someone's house.

Fuck knows how anyone was supposed to find out about this fundraiser, Wu sure as hell never mentioned it in public (maybe on her facebook? I don't know, I'm not friends with her.)

As far as I can tell, nobody on twitter has said a word about going to any of these so they can't have been terribly exciting.

Out of interest, does anyone think Wu will actually be back in 2020 running for office again? Personally, I doubt it. While I'm sure there'll be a handful of cucks that would donate, mostly the media interest and even the modest amount of donations she got this cycle will be gone. That means Wu would actually have to put in serious work to give even the appearance of a real campaign. I can't see that ever happening. I don't want to try predicting what Wu's next move will be, I tried that when Giant Spacekat tanked and I don't think anyone could possibly have seen the congresswuman switch coming. I really doubt she'll go with professional political candidate though, not enough juice in it.

It must be incredibly demoralizing to be a woman at this event, surrounded by other women/peers that have decades of experience in programming, infosec, cloud architecture, engineering etc and you’ve got this fake woman/flimflam man named Brianna Wu talking down to you about your career. A man who’s never held a job or spent a day in his life working in any profession related to tech. How humiliating.

It's depressing how this stuff happens. Wu has absolutely no business being as MS Build. She's not really a software engineer, has very little technical knowledge and certainly knows nothing at all about the Microsoft ecosystem since it doesn't really intersect with Apple fanboy set.

Say what you want about Gamergate, the basic premise that games journalists were writing about their friends regardless of the merits of the games they were producing was sound. I suppose it's churlish to complain about how the world works, but when it's so blatant as iMore awarding the steaming pile of dogshit that was Rev60 their game of the year award because Wu is friends with Georgina Dow then you've got to say that's a very legitimate complaint. Likewise, when non-technical Wu is billed as an engineer and security expert at an official Microsoft event at a top-tier conference, there's something gone very wrong with how these things are being vetted. Nepotism is a fact of life, but you should at least try for the appearance of meritocracy.

Build is a deeply technical and professional conference and it’s. Its about $3k a ticket. It’s not one of those low rent hipster SJW conferences where people talk subjective bullshit like the beauty of well formatted code and how JavaScripts equality operators are “problematic” for those of a non binary gender.

I don’t think John is speaking at Build in an official capacity. I’m pretty sure it’s at a women in tech outreach event related to, but not not part of the actual conference. Johns buddy got him a pass to the conference, but I doubt he is going to show up to any of the conference talks since he would be completely out of his element. If it is an official talk, it will be available online in the coming weeks though, so that will be a treat.
