In case anyone's wondering: Jim Golab doesn't appear on any of the financial disclosure forms, so either he donated $2700 in the past couple weeks, or Wu is an idiot. Or both.

Exactly. Although some insightful commenters have pointed out that there's an upcoming convention trip that coincidentally needs paying for, so they may have a specific purpose for this beg.

If you have nothing to do all day, and you're a trained software engineer, why do you even need to use some bullshit wordpressesque template plug-and-play site in the first place? Couldn't you write your own? At least a friggin drag-and-drop frontpage would be better than that garbage..

I mean hell, I had my first webpage years before I was even old enough to take a compsci course... if it's so easy a kid with an interest can do it, why can't a grown man "Software Engineer" pull it off with modern tools?

I was thinking Frank ran out of money and he needed to recoup some costs on his new Porsche. It's obvious he's already trying to get some money back from campaign / job expense (maybe tax as a "business expense") by using it for campaign fundraising...
 
Do you think Wu has any real idea of the scale of the task she has to tackle? She has to get at least 20,000 people to leave their house on primary day with the intention of ticking her name on a form and she has to do it for a budget of about $1 per person. A dollar doesn't buy you a lot of anything, especially not mass communication.

She couldn't even get 2000 of them to sign her nomination papers. There's some serious hubris involved in continuing this scampaign.

Playing fantasy political campaign, I can think of ways to make a shoestring campaign work but she'd seriously have to have started a good few months back. I'm not sure she knows how to do anything except ask for money. Is what she's doing really worth it for another four months of pretending to be important?

Nobody is clamoring for this idiot's services as a software engineer. She's not turning down lucrative contracting gigs. She isn't going to spearhead some amazing startup. What else does she have?

This isn't just an ego trip for John. This is his future. With this he'll be a TRUE and HONEST woman in politics and is banking on getting talkings gigs, his face on TV, paydays when this run is over. He may be deluding himself into thinking he has a chance, but at the end of the day he knows he'll have a paycheck waiting for him if he can spin it into enough of a trainwreck. I wouldn't put it past him to already have some fake controversy or death threats ready to go. Warren is going to end up being some kind of patsy whether intentional or not. That dude is unhinged.

Nah, his future doesn't depend on continuing to flog this dead horse. He was perfectly capable of getting "Woman In Politics" coverage in the media a year ago, when he had done even less than he's done now.
Oddly enough, out of all our persons of interest, I think John might be most similar to DarkSydePhil career-wise. He's got a small cadre of morons who'll support him (with media attention in John's case, raw cash in DSP's case) no matter what he does, as long as he does something. For both of them, they're so far below the ordinary standard of competence that there's no point in trying to earn a higher standing and wider audience by upping their game - m-ilking the paypigs for the rest of eternity is actually smarter.

He's got patreon bux and twatter -- the ONLY credible positive sources of income since the conversion from John to Bribri. I'm sure John knows he's gonna lose, in fact he's planning on it in order to m.i.l.k. the patreon bux "I lost against da big mean LGBT-hating machine, but see I stood for all the issues everyone [who is donating] cares about! Help me get into office in the (N+2x) election!" Except without those pesky FEC rules attached...

On one of the random live streams/podcasts she was on, she was bragging about having the same software Trump used for his campaign. That's pretty much the only reason why she bought it: She saw someone else have it, so she needs to have it.

It's classic Wu in action, throwing thousands of bucks at pointless shit hoping it'll lead to success. She could have hired a web designer that actually lived in her district and receive a beautifully designed website at a fraction of the cost. I'm more curious as to what payment plan they're on. They spent 2K in December for the initial setup and have been paying $1,325 monthly since. What kind of fucking package did they buy for what is essentially a stock photo of the Capitol building?

I looked at their pricing, and for their "stock plans" the most expensive is $160 / mo, which includes text message service and all kinds of stuff I really don't think she has (as it's never been mentioned and doesn't seem to be a part of her site). In fact, it looks like she has the basic "Leader" plan which is $24 per month. How in the fuck does she claim to pay $1,325 to these people per month then? I really can't see it based on their offerings... This smells fishy....

I dunno, state is $2000 one time and comes in CSV format, which it's already been shown Johianna can't handle.
Also note that even the cheapest plans include 24/7 technical support... so why has bribri been paying for, how long was it? 4 months without a working page? Also, isn't it itemized and listed as just for the donations page?
I was thinking more along the lines of some sort of embezzlement, if not just a special SUCKER rate..
