This isn't the Presidential Election. This is a Congressional primary. It isn't even a hotly contested one or in some kind of pivotal district. Crackpots like John go up against entrenched incumbents all the time. John needs to able to control the narrative so he isn't going to be seeking out debates and media exposure unless they're carefully vetted. Lynch understands that acknowledging John just gives him exposure and legitimacy he wouldn't have otherwise. Local papers will do puff pieces about The Young Congressional Candidate of Who Beat Gamergate and is Set to Rock Washington because journalism is dead. Most people in his district will see John's name when they go to vote in the primary and wonder who the hell he is.
We need the other also-ran to get his eyes on Wu. Could help him get some exposure.

check out these movers and shakers with a few thousand followers

I think Twitter broke the brains of people and created a mass delusion by calling them "followers" and then put that number prominently on top of the screen. A lot of those idiots seem to honestly believe they have become some sort of leader or authority who, by edicts, will inform, direct or command their group of "followers" as if they were minions. It's some sort of Jerusalem syndrome.

Do the people in District 8 want it, John? What is "it", anyway?

John: All of my opinions are completely informed and anyone who disagrees with me is a fucking idiot
Twitter: Shut the fuck up cunt

None of the responses to his tweet were even remotely like that. They were generally supportive. Talk about manufactured outrage.

>"I like chocolate ice cream!"
>"Me too! I also enjoy strawberry!"
>"Geez... misogynist alt-right goobergrape Russian bot harassment trolls, amirite?"

This is so illustrative of Wu's whole twitter "following." Even when the evidence to contradict his implication is linked right there in the very same tweet, they can't help but twiddle his gash.

Edit:

>"Hey everybody! I may have possibly barely met the requirements to just get on the primary ballot!"
>"Oh wow! I'm from S&S and we really want you to write a book for us on how to get elected to congress!"

Yeah, I'm sure you have tons of "literary agents" begging you to write a book about something you haven't even come close to actually doing (even more objectively and obviously so than all your other claimed "accomplishments").

Once again this week Wu promised to write a blog post, and once again couldn't even deliver something so straightforward and low effort. I really don't understand what Wu is about. She's perpetually promising things that are easily within her power to do and then not delivering. Is it really so much effort to spend an hour bashing out a blog post for your pathetic campaign website? Doesn't she think people are going to notice she's flaky as all hell?

The only thing Wu ever seems to do is spam her fundraising website. She's raising truly pathetic amounts of money and promising to spend it in ways which cannot possibly help her get elected. In the hands of some energetic and competent person, it'd be an interesting challenge to turn such a small amount of money in to a workable congressional campaign, but Wu isn't even trying. What's the endgame here? Why is Wu exposing her extremely shady past to public scrutiny while simultaneously not doing the slightest thing that might lead to some reward to balance the risk? Is she just that fucking stupid?

It's usually wing nuts that participate in the internal politics and most voters ignore the candidate and vote along party lines when it comes to anything other than the presidency.
How would that give Wu a chance?

Unfortunately Frank, your shitty as sci-fi tropes are not an accurate reflection of reality.

Who is hacking our voting machines, Frank?

That’s incredible, Frank! Just a few weeks ago your wife was talking about how much of a stupid, tech-illiterate man you are and how you don’t even know how to update your iPhone. Now you’re a cyber security expert with knowledge on how nuclear power plants function. I’m sure you’re a credible source.

Her followers don’t care because they could give two shits about Brianna. Being “Twitter famous” is as relevant as receiving a bunch of (You)’s on 4chan. There’s a reason why she has 80k followers but her campaign ads can rarely reach 1,000 views. There’s a reason why she gets the same 100-300 likes on all of her “hot” tweets. These people don’t care who she is or what she does, they’re just clicking that pretty heart-shaped button when they see someone have the same political views as them.

Also because nobody has said it in forever: Where’s the blog post, John?

Odd that Flynt/Wu is unaware that "hold my beer" is a pet phrase of the hated mansplainer and is not a locution commonly used by people born with a pair of X chromosomes. In his next attempt to display the deportment and diction of a real woman, he'll brandish a tiny, fluid-filled Mason jar containing what appear to be two malformed lima beans and scream, "Lick my balls!"

the fact that Frank thinks a reactor in the US can be "another Chernobyl" and can be "detonated by hackers" just shows what an ignorant fearmongering fuckwad he is. That's moon rocks level dumb.

For one, the Chernobyl reactor didn't even have a containment building. Like 13 people have died in the US at nuclear power plants and none due to radiation, most were either electrocuted or killed in some sort of non-nuclear explosion. France gets over 75% of its power from nuclear and has never had an accident. All the waste water is stored in the floor of one warehouse. Fearmongering jack offs like Frank are the reason we don't have breeder reactors and 4th generation reactors. Fukishima was a 2nd generation reactor built in the early 70s. Just read up on the Integral Fast Reactor as an example of what could be but won't because people in congress (and their mouth-breather husbands) are morons.

She can appeal to idiots that only vote based on social issues. Pretty simple.

The kind of people who care only about the types of issues Wu tends to bring up are a) not normally the sort to leave the house and vote (instead preferring to just talk on social media) and b) are from what we've seen pretty rare in the district from what's been posted here.
