Completely hilarious! John would never be guilty of colluding with """"journalists"""" for shitty op-eds or glowing game reviews, right?

Yes, this is my theory too. He and Brianna started dating pre surgical transition. I bet he got off watching her transition from the dude he wanted to the lady he thinks it's socially acceptable for him to love.
Since when does Frank care what's socially acceptable? He writes fapfics about giant isopods, his idea of a great time is wrestling Drumpf in a Godzilla fatsuit on public-access TV, and he burned all bridges with his family to marry John Walker Flynt.

When/where did John live in California? I bet it was some shithole like Stockton and he’s calling that “Silicon Valley.”

She met Frank in Denver and followed him to CA. They were there for about a year I think. Then they moved to Boston for Frank's new job.

He's from a traditional Chinese immigrant family, right? My guess is that it's either outright from worrying what his family thinks of his sexuality, or self-hate ingrained from childhood.

Yes I do imagine it's pretty hard to describe things that have never happened to you.
You are really on a tear today, John.

Well, no, not all the bridges - the original house they were living in when Gamergate happened (the one where Flu claimed to have fled for the safety of their lives...only to be subsequently proven to have never even left the house from the video Flu posted while "on the run" happening to show the exact same features of the exact same room) was IIRC property of Frank's family, who let the couple live in it under the pretense of maintaining it to keep up the property value.

If you've seen the inside of either that house or the current house, you know that Frank and Flu didn't even fucking TRY to keep things clean. Flu burns money on every new tech toy (and now mid life crisis cars) but couldn't even be bothered to get some IKEA detolfs to put their collection of anime statues in so they didn't get covered with dust and exposed to Flu's rampant smoking addiction - it was so bad that even in publicity shots in front of those same shelves, the dust was so thick you can see when some of them were scooted around.

Anyway, obviously while you'd never hear it from Flu and co., we inferred that due to the failure of keeping the house nice and tidy, Frank's family kicked them out of the house and thus forced them to move into the tiny house they currently reside in.

Yes I do imagine it's pretty hard to describe things that have never happened to you.

"institutional sexism women I've experienced"

I think the ghoul is trying to communicate something.

I'm not sure if anyone's verified what his family was like - the stern "SON, I AM DISAPPOINT" father in flowing imperial robes is just kind of an assumption based on Frank's age and social status as far as I know.

LOL, Wu refiled her Q1 accounts and the figures are different from her earlier version...

Exhibit A, old and busted:

Exhibit B, new hotness:

The old version didn't even add up correctly. How, oh how, is anyone this bad at accounting? High school dropouts with home hairdressing businesses keep books better than this fucking idiot. Neither figure of cash on hand at the end of the period tallies with the cash on hand reported in the April quarterly. This is a clown fiesta. The numbers seem like they're basically just made up.

If I'm not mistaken, the only changed numbers are the "cash on hand" and "subtotal" which went down by only $110 dollars. Oh no wait, the bottom "cash on hand" also went down by 36 cents.

Like, is anybody really going to give a shit about thirty six pennies being over the true amount?

I don't think anyone is ever going to give a shit, no. The point is that these probably aren't the real figures even after corrections. The figures for cash on hand don't agree from the end of one period to the beginning of another, or even with previous versions of the same report. It's evidence that no proper bookkeeping is happening. If you've got a proper ledger with every debit and credit properly chalked up, and bank statements that agree with the figures in those ledgers then mistakes like this can't happen.

Edit: just to illustrate the sort of accounting fuckery that's going on, observe:

The fact that totals for election cycle to date receipts minus expenditures tallies perfectly with the cash on hand in each case strongly suggest that those figures are being derived by working backwards from the current totals rather than from any actual accounts.

It's amazing that Wu manages to be so incompetent in every aspect of her life. This stuff isn't exactly rocket science, it's simple maths.

Worse, it's not incompetence at math, it's incompetence at filling out an Excel spreadsheet correctly and using the sum function.

It's worse than that, the totaled expenditures don't even match up with the itemized ones.
In Q2 they understated their expenses by $959.79 (for the candidate training seminar) because it was one of those "Frank paid for it" items that got double-counted. Instead of just removing the double-counting, they let it drop off the books entirely.
Then in Q4 they overstated their expenses by $1709.29, God knows why.

So in total, they're under-reporting their cash on hand by $749.50 - at least if the raw figures they're reporting are accurate. I don't see anything obvious that this could be a double-count for.
Could be that they finally skimmed a little money off the top, but I'm putting my bet on either they completely forgot to list an expense, or they just suuuuuuuck at record keeping.

Did anyone save the original edition of the Q4 report?

It's still available on the site, it's just moved to the misc reports section.

I doubt Wu is skimming money, at least not directly. My best guess as to how Wu handles the money is that it all goes in to her personal bank account and she buys whatever she wants with that money. Then at quarter's end she goes through all the receipts and decides what to list as a campaign expense and what is purely personal. I doubt she's ever kept proper accounts, which is why the figures are constantly fluctuating with every new revision of the reports, it's also how we get things like random bank charges, missing actblue fees and sometimes potbelly sandwich and uber binges.

Aaaaand wouldn't you know it, there are $763.55 of additional expenditures that didn't make it onto the revised form :stupid:
With those included we get within stabbing distance of "adding up".

EDIT: With the exception that they're still overstating their Q4 expenditures by roughly enough to offset Q2's accounting mistake.
