She was a guest on TWiT again, because apparently they can't find competent guests. They get a few hundred viewers each episode. I don't think anyone cares about Wu's campaign there. After all, doesn't this scream "donate to my totally serious political campaign"?

Edit: By the way, she paid these jokers 2000 bucks for a year of service. You could get a VPS with at least a 3 9s service level agreement for much less money, and she already has her mailing list in mailchimp and payment processing through actblue... so what do these guys actually do for her?

Wu isn't left of center, he's more of a Chavez or Castro Socialist. He's stated quite a few times he supports anti-capitalists and antifa through tweets and retweets, he tweeted a thank you to some Rev-Soc twitter account a few months back for, in his words "driving the Democrat party further left". That's his whole "Bold! New! Democrat!" thing he's been touting about. Then there's the promises of using Congress as his personal tool to destroy everything he doesn't like.

Lucky for the U.S. he's a crazy, lazy, incompetent pathological liar that puts no effort into anything.

I like how Wu keeps mentioning these "major media events" but we never see them and the screenshots of events he has done have been in rooms with 6-30 people at most.

Oh, hey. I was wondering why Wu was still in Boston when she was supposed to be at the VentureBeat games summit today and tomorrow. She's been dumped from the schedule.

I wonder what the story of that was? Not enough money in the campaign coffers to pay for the flight and call it a campaign fundraising trip? Dean Takahashi finally realised Wu was a complete nobody who makes the conference look ridiculous when all the other speakers were high ups at various large companies? Wu just too damn lazy to go outside?

I could see it, but I'm not sure if I agree. Hear me out on this:

We've seen literally nothing to indicate Brianna Wu has any genuinely held beliefs of any kind.
I don't think she's left of center. I don't think she's one of these psychotic anarchists or socialists. I think she supports the betterment and interests of Brianna Wu, to the exclusion of all else.
How many times have we watched her flipflop on issues and stances? Bernie was evil, now he's got some great points and she wants the support of the people who supported him. We need to reach out to and build bridges with Republicans, wait, no we don't, they're all evil. She was homeless and starving as a young woman, wait no, she had millionaire parents who helped her start a company, wait no, she was disowned and living in her car.

She doesn't believe in anything. She says whatever gets her what she wants from whoever she's speaking to at the time, which is why we have an archive of deleted tweets that's almost as large as our archive of her undeleted tweets.

She's not a Democrat or a Republican, because both of those involve supporting some form of ideal or value.
The only thing she gives a fuck about is whatever gets her donations and attention, and she will pay lip service to literally anything to make that happen.
She's not a believer of any flavor. She an opportunistic and self absorbed grifter, and swiftly disavows herself of any endeavor or person that ceases to be of use to her.

Leftist politics are something she'll engage in only as long as they bear fruit. 4 years from now she could easily turn into a Fox News pundit.

Exactly, which is why running for political office is her dream job - not holding office, just running. All she thinks it involves is tweeting, and very occasionally giving speeches, that say how great she is and how all these big ideas she has are amazing, and she gets money for it. And the likelihood that she'll ever be called to actually do anything more than that is infinitesimally small. Hire one crazy to do anything resembling the hard work, do her usual thing of making up all the people backing her and supporting her, and of course politicians lie all the time, so why shouldn't she?

It's perfect for a pathological liar and narcissist like Brianna Wu. Hell, it makes running for congress seem pretty appealing, if you're willing to tweet, lie and beg all day. Of course it helps to have a husband with money, but that's been true of everything Wu has play-acted doing.

99% of John's public positions are reverse-engineered (perhaps the only engineering he's ever done) to appeal to his bases of support: people willing to accept him as a woman, and people willing to accept him as a feminist Joan of Arc. I do think we've seen enough glimpses of his thought process to see some things he really believes though.
- "Tech" (as in Silicon Valley brogrammer startups) is the most important part of the American economy, and a region's prosperity depends on attracting and developing tech businesses. Government should be actively promoting this.
- The government should generally keep its hands off the internet... but also be available as the "ultimate backchannel" to punish bad actors.
- Laws would be better if they were written by technical experts - such as himself.
- A good legislator is one who can work across the aisle to enact compromise legislation. (John's gotten smacked down more than once for variants of this by his rabid-left followers - I think he might actually be slipping up and speaking his mind)
- Every policy that matters ought to be set in Washington DC, not at the state or local level.
 
Yes, Frank, we definitely want to entrust our nation's cyber-security to an "engineer" stupid enough to fall for an obvious phishing scam... more than once.
