Was Warren there? Also I’m guessing Christopher Voehl (the other guy trying to primary Lynch) hasn’t made much of an impact either?

No Warren, although I thought he'd be there. Not sure where he was. A couple rich towns had caucuses today, maybe there to raise some money. I'm supporting him.

I haven't heard a single person mention Voehl, not even as a curiosity.

ETA: Warren was at the Abington caucus. Makes sense because that's where his campaign manager lives.

ETA2: I'm a fucking moron because I forgot about Warren Lynch. I was thinking Setti Warren, who is running a real campaign for governor. And wondering why you cared about him, but I'm a polite person so I answered politely. To answer the question you were really asking, Warren Lynch was nowhere to be seen.

I mean, they gave a guy a million dollars and pages of Globe slobberknocking last go round and that dude only got about 20%.

Why would anyone run for that seat before Lynch tries his hand at a Senate opening or something? There's punching above your weight and then there is just leaving a smear behind you.

The union guy? Can't remember his name. Alexander or something. Which is what happens when you run a well run, well funded, well connected campaign against Lynch... nobody can remember your name a few years later. Anyone doing it is dumb, looking for publicity, or both. Voehl doesn't seem to be seeking publicity, which is sort of a key part of running for office.

Gee I wonder which member of the Wu household has a greater vested interest in keeping this re,tarded abortion of a scampaign alive

And, obviously, she wasn't in sight.

John Flynt is a man.

Yeah, he seems like a true believer. He should be listening to those leathery guys in Cambridge bars on who to challenge instead of whoever is telling him to try and hump Lynch's leg. Fucking Clark in 05, for instance.

Apologies for the double posting but Melrose?

Jesus, this is the most low effort scam of all time.

Remember when we requested Wu's enrolment history and Wu had a freakout on twitter that criminals were requesting her transcript? Good times, good times.

I wish we did have her transcript, it must be a hilarious litany of failure.

I would pay a fee to request that.

Actual conversation at my city's caucus today:
"Is anyone running against Lynch this time?"
"Not really."

That's where Brianna's campaign stands among people who actually caucus. In the general population, it won't even merit a "not really."

There were also no signature sheets for her. There's no way she can get 2000 signatures if she's skipping all of the caucuses. It's the easiest way to get qualifying signatures.

And, obviously, she wasn't in sight. My city is one of the largest in the state outside of Boston. Every other candidate was there or sent a representative.

Wu is running against Lynch because Wu knows he cannot beat Lynch and will not have to actually campaign. All of this is just to add “politician” to Wu’s vast list of imaginary achievements, and possibly get a few truly stupid people to give him money.

If you look at his social media, he refers to Stephen Lynch as his cousin quite a bit. He also calls Stephen Lynch a homophobe among other insults.

These posts are the basis for my theory that the Wus finally hired a living breathing human for the campaign because he could offer dirty family secrets. Hilarious because Brianna pretends to be vehemently anti “dox.” She might use Lynch’s public figure status to justify her attacks on him, but she will still go back to the “GloppyGape, the alt right, and Russian hackers are spreading lies and threatening!” narrative any time negative press about her gains traction.

Brianna is already slinging mud. Expect this to get much much worse if she gets on the ballot and thinks she can win.

So Johns main volunteer (and the weapon) is Stephen lynches cousin?

Fucking lol. It would explain why stephen won't pozload my negholep.

Chapter 53, section 45 of election law in MA requires Wu to dox himself in order to get signatures (i.e. on the nomination papers before canvassing). No using some rent-an-office allowed... though I suspect that will be what gets put down there. Presumably such an act renders and signatures gained to be invalid, though I think it hardly matters.

@Kroster - general question, if you don't mind. Can you tell us a little more about just how badly the Wus burned their bridges with the sort of people who support up-and-coming candidates? What kind of support could they have expected if they followed through and didn't piss off the gatekeepers, but otherwise remained themselves?

It's unlikely any state party members would have come out publicly against an incumbent. They're supposed to stay impartial until after the primary. But they could have quietly been helping her find staff and volunteers and money. They hear the gossip and know who is unhappy with Lynch (he is popular, but everyone has their enemies) and would funnel them to Wu. They could have introduced Wu, or at least put in a good word, to people who might help: donors, grant makers, volunteers, even interested parties. And even if they wanted to go public with support, they could still have the bs excuse that a primary just makes the party stronger and all voices should be heard.

A campaign this big can't run without a lot of volunteers. That would have been the biggest help. People to get signatures, set the schedule, go door to door.

I don't even know what they specifically did to piss so many people off. I'm sure everyone on this thread has theories, but I haven't heard specific stories. Just eye rolls and that the Wus are hopeless. At first it was in the language of "I was pretty disappointed in her campaign" and now it's more like "there is no campaign." And when someone who has their finger on the pulse tells you that, then there's no reason not to believe them. And voila, no campaign.
