Edit 2: OH FUCK OFF! SHE SPENT OVER 200 DOLLARS ON POTBELLY SANDWICH LUNCHES OVER THREE MONTHS AND CHARGED IT TO HER CAMPAIGN. HOW IS THIS NOT A SCAM?

Well, this campaign has produced one thing. It has increased the size of John's potbelly. Soon he will look like one of those Vietnamese pigs and the Gut Belt of Fail will finally snap.

That's actually just very impressive.
How the fuck do you spend $200 on sandwiches in a year, much less 3 months?
How many fucking sandwiches are she and Frank eating?

Assuming $5 each that's just 40 sandwiches. That's for the cheap ones, though. I bet John gorges himself on some $8 thing with a couple bucks of add-ons and some sports drink for another $3.

He was borderline anorexic about a year ago and he now has lunch lady arms and a very noticeable potbelly that he's trying and failing to keep in check with the gut belt of fail so probably a lot.

Alright, so let's go ahead and say that's 30 sandwiches, just for the sake of argument.
In 3 months, that would mean he is eating a potbelly sandwich around every third day.
That is in addition to whatever other fast food he is eating.

Edit:
I've heard of pork barrel politics, but this is ridiculous. :P

I'm very disappointed, Frank actually stopped doxing his donors (:_( Now the vast majority of them are just aggregated into "unitemized", as they would be on a sane campaign.
Surprisingly, contributions are almost double what they were last quarter - mostly due to those one-time whale donations. I'm assuming from this that most of the previous paypigs have stayed on for the ride.

@Kroster has already done an excellent job covering the expenses so I won't go into most of them.
I do want to mention the "meal charge" to W Hotel in New York. If you look up that hotel, it doesn't have a restaurant built into the location he was in. Dude was in the restaurant capital of America and he ordered room service?
Another thing I want to dig into more is that comical series of missed flights. Notice that the original flight was just $7. This says to me that Frank originally tried to use his own frequent flyer miles to buy John a free flight, but then realized it would run afoul of some sort of rules and couldn't. Anyone have any insight into this? (EDIT: also, why is the alleged original flight dated later than the two replacements?)
Also bizarre is that the two legs of the flight were bought separately. Did John not know how long he was staying?

Funny thing about the filling of the form itself: they didn't include dates for any of the donations. I imagine this is big enough a mistake that they'll have to file a correction.

I suspect the 7 dollars charge was a connecting bus service at the intermediate airport, whichever that was.

I'm at a complete loss to the explain the dates on all those charges though, or why a second set of flights were needed... OK, you miss your outbound flight, but surely the return flight is still good? Unless Wu actually managed to pull the same trick of being late for a flight and having to book a more expensive last minute flight TWICE on same trip. The idea of that boggles my mind though.

My guess was that they bought an original round-trip ticket that fell through somehow, and then bought two one-way tickets to replace it. Which is still bizarre.

Back in the 1970s, professionals could scam money from their companies or their research grants by booking tickets to conferences and then canceling them for a check for the full amount. This is not possible anymore. Maybe they paid for and canceled flights and only paid cancellation fees? And then expensed full flights?

It’s just stupid enough to qualify as a Wu scheme.

I’m willing to bet that they gave the Honda Accord to Warren Lynch. They obviously can no longer pay him and he advertises that he is “poor” so it makes sense. They said it went to someone who needed it.

... It also helps that she seen to be "doing something" so people, especially her husband, don't start asking awkward questions about why a qualified software engineer (nope, couldn't say that with a straight face) is unemployed.

You say that as if Frank doesn't know what Brianna is. He's not an observer in all this. Whatever it is, he's in on it.

If anything he supports this vanity campaign so he can tell others how his 'wife' is a politician.

A lot of people seem to think Frank is pretty nefarious, but that's not the view I get of him. I think he really wants Brianna to do well, and he tries his best to support her and rescue her from her doomed causes.

This is, after all, the guy who dumped upwards of half a million dollars in to BriBri's game company. I really don't see what possible reward he could have expected from that. We also saw the bursts of activity from Frank in the last days of Giant Spacekat and now in Wu's campaign, where if you compare their online presence, it seems like Frank is doing more campaigning than Brianna is.

I suspect the dynamic is pretty toxic, where Brianna lies to Frank and Frank is aware but doesn't call her on it. Early in their relationship, Frank really did seem to believe a lot of things about Brianna that weren't true, like she was a college graduate, etc. I think with time, Frank has come to appreciate that Brianna is fundamentally dishonest even in her closest relations, but that it does no good to actually call her out. Really nothing could be solved except by Frank just dumping her ass and getting on with his life on his own, which would probably make him a whole lot happier.

Wasn’t one of the one way tickets used to go to Virginia to buy the Porsche??

Holy fuck, you're right that would explain it if the 11 /14/2017 Jetblue flight were for the Porsche run. That's hella scammy. Not only is it declared completely incorrectly in the report, but it isn't an expense you could possibly justify as campaign related.

I want to clear up the JP event. The JP meeting was a regular ward meeting. Right now every politician is going to every ward/town democratic committee meeting in their district and giving their stump speech. They're not events designed for any one candidate: they're monthly meetings for the town/ward democratic committee, and people running for office looking for democratic support are always welcome to come give a little speech. It wasn't a Gonzalez event, and they were probably given an equal amount of time to speak.

Gonzalez spoke for nearly half an hour, Brianna for 5 minutes. There were numerous posts before and after the event that Gonzalez was a main speaker and virtually nothing for Brianna.

My guess is that Gonzalez was a confirmed and organized guest for the event and Brianna just managed to get a last minute invite to introduce herself. Apart from the Star Wars event I think this was the first time in Brianna's scampaign that she's actually announced something ahead of time.

I think Frank legitimately loves Brianna and is still partly fooled by her and partly complicit. When they got together, she was able to buy a few years of “just getting her life back together” as a suffering transgender woman whose parents left her homeless. Not being bothered to work, she finally convinced Frank that she could become a video game mogul. She posted about planning to buy all kinds of fancy toys and vacations after “crunch” when the game finally “shipped.” Sort of like now but trade Porsche’s for Disney and BMW motorbikes.

The game was a failure, but conveniently Brianna blamed GamerGate for that. Not the fact that it was a terrible game made by people who save for Frank don’t talk to her anymore.

Frank bought into the GamerGate lie because he does love Brianna and the lie is easier to swallow than the truth that she’s just a scammer who will lie to even him.

Then I think he started enjoying the attention. The lie became easier.

He wants to believe in Brianna’s cosplay, so he’s working harder than she ever will on the campaign. When that fails, she will blame GooberGrapers and the Alt-Right and the Russians, and Frank will believe that too.

Then she’ll pass the next several years bouncing from one HuffPo piece to the next, taking interviews and pretending to be an expert talking head. She might even get a spot on some low rent tech show for awhile where she will speak as an authority on all things feminist, video game, and politics.

She will soon buy a custom Porsche with Frank’s money and Frank will decide that she deserves it.

At the outset, he honestly expected to get rich off the deal. Mobile games were red-hot, and there was an unfilled market segment for "AAA-quality" games on the iPhone. The plan was to take the market by storm with an awesome game, make a nice profit on it, then get bought out by EA and make a massive profit.

EDIT: one more random thought, on the financials. I wonder if the reason they filed on paper is because they couldn't figure out how not to dox the donors using the fancy software they're paying $2K a quarter for.

Bri claims that Frank reads this site for him, so I can only imagine this is how things go at Wu's place:

Bri: so what lies are the Kiwis telling about me today?

Frank: They say your campaign is a failure and a scam.

B: *snarls* LOL. I'm going to be President in 2020!

F: It also says you were born a man named John Flynt.

B: *snarls louder* MORE LIES!

F: But honey, didn't I pay for the sur...

B: *roars* I SAID IT'S ALL LIES! I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A TRUE AND HONEST WOMAN!

F: *screams* PLEASE DON'T MAKE ME SLEEP IN THE BASEMENT WITH THE DOGS AGAIN!
