I can't find the article online, but if this was in 1979, Lynch probably punched out some Iranians who were protesting America in the middle of the Iranian hostage crisis. Go ahead and see how that plays in District 8, John. The results might surprise you.

The only people who remember the Iran hostage crisis are coincidentally the only people who vote in mid-term elections - old people.

Wu says "history", as if this was something that happened several times over some period of time, not a one-time occurrence that took place 40 years ago.

Of course, if Bri-bri was smart, he'd stop bringing up people's "histories". Johnny's the last person to talk about anyone's past, and doing this just might end up leading a lot of D8 voters over here....

I think that was basically the gist. Similar to how Wu claims that Lynch wants to legalize murdering LGBT people based off some amendment he didn't vote for or something similarly specious and technical (murder's still illegal).

First off the "tech committee" is actually called the Committee on Science, Space, and Technology. As far as I can tell, it doesn't have the power to do any of the things Wu thinks it can do. Here's what the Science Committee is actually charged with doing:

The S, S, & T committee does nothing that Wu’s focuses on. The “technology” in the title is primarily in the realm of research. Ironically, it’s kind of a C-list committee and the type of spot they’d put a first term congressman. Still, on the off chance she did win, I could see her even getting denied a spot on that committee since she’d constantly be sperging about shit that’s outside the jurisdiction of the committee and embarrass the party.

As you and others have mentioned, all of the cyber security stuff she feigns knowledge of is under the auspices of the Homeland Security Committee and, to a lesser extent, the Intelligene Committee. It’s not unheard of for a first termer to get put on one of those committees if and only if you have legitimate career expertise in those fields, ie military, CIA, law enforcement. Even if she had experience, Wu would never be put on one of those since she’s obviously unhinged. Zero percent chance of her getting a seat here.

The vast majority of the stuff that interests Wu is under the jursidiction of the Tech and Telecom subcommittee in the Energy and Commerce Committee. E&C is a primo spot since having jurisdiction over all commercial and energy activity in the United States is obviously a big fucking deal. Seats on this are coveted. People work for years to get a spot. They raise a lot of money for the party. They’re loyal soldiers for floor votes. They’re almost always around for at least one full term. They’re the embodiments of everything that Wu would never represent as a member of Congress.

If Wu got elected, they’d probably dump her in House Admin. Maybe add in a spot on Small Business or something anodyne like Natual Resources. Normally Ethics would be a good spot to dump an idiot, but thats too high profile these days. They’d find a nice, quiet spot where she wouldn’t have a platform to embarrass the party. She’d also more than likely have an office in what used to be an attic - seriously.

Not that any of this matters since Wu will never, ever win, but I enjoy speculating on the shitshow that would happen if Flynt pulled a rabbit out of a hat.

I was never part of GamerGate, but in my casual understanding of it, I believe Brianna kept goading trolls and teenagers into engaging with her, harassing them with her real account and with sock puppet/troll accounts she herself admitted to creating. Then, when people took the bait, she twisted the narrative to make herself a victim for fun, profit, and attention.

Lying about everything in her life has thus far proved a net positive for Brianna.

She’s stupidly using the same playbook with Lynch. If she manages to get 2000 signatures to get on the ballot and Lynch decides he’ll have to acknowledge her, she’s in for a surprise.

Lynch isn’t like the GamerGaters. He’s a hometown hero and well known and liked in his district. He won’t fall for bait. He’ll know how to make Brianna look like the fraud that she is.

If Wu becomes the Democratic nominee, the party has already been embarrassed.

The esteemed representative candidate moon rock specialist is referencing Uber hiring a diversity manager or somesuch. Basically saying that it's worthless because Uber is too irredeemably racist\sexist\etc to change.

Also Wu:

Note that this wasn't five years ago, it was 2017, well after Uber became 'problematic.' Not another dime, right Wu?

Can you imagine being the secret service team assigned to vet Wu for a security clearance? You could make a "My name is Earl" type sitcom out of that scenario, where every week our everyman agent duo encounters a new lie from Wu's past.

I'm going to call utter bullshit on this (Wu lying about something, what a stretch, I know).

I've been to the Bay Area and LA a few times and took ubers. The drivers there do not engage you in any conversation. This took me back a bit because I used them in a few smaller cities on the east/midwest and the drivers would not shut the fuck up they were so friendly.

As my friend from the area explained it to me, back east people still use Uber as a second job; they do it because they want to, or because they want a little extra cash. In the Bay Area, its just another taxi company where this is their job and they're sick of contact with customers because they have to deal with Californians.

If Wu wins the nomination, Wu wins the seat - no republicans have filed. He won’t break 10-15% even on a good day, though.

The republicans aren't bothering to waste their time losing to Lynch. But if there was any chance of Wu winning then they would throw someone in to profit from the Brianna Wu shitshow.

That's if he's lucky. I could easily see them completely freezing him out. E&C is a monster committee and they wouldn't let an idiot like John even near it. A lot of what goes through the House hits there eventually because its jurisdiction is over nearly anything Congress has jurisdiction over.

Why is the right not supporting the hell out of her on the stealth. Getting her propped into any government position is probably the best thing that could happen to them.
