To become a licensed professional engineer in the United States, you need a four-year degree in engineering from an accredited university. You must then work for at least two years under the supervision of a licensed professional engineer and must then pass a couple of rigorous licensing exams. Flynt/Wu has none of those qualifications. In many states, he could face civil and criminal prosecution for providing engineering services. Link.

But Flynt/Wu is cunning. He doesn't attempt to work as an engineer. Instead, he constantly writes and says "as an engineer," which is nothing more than an outright, blatant, and shameless lie intended impress the gullible and deceive them into thinking he has a four-year degree in a difficult discipline.

Kinda off topic but since the PE comes up a lot in this thread, it's licensed state by state and MA will let you take the FE exam without having a degree. Then there's still the 4 years working in the field before coming back and passing the PE exam too. Both are real killer tests, the FE lasts about 6 hours and has a pass rate of about 70%. Wu would obviously have a better chance of winning the lottery on the way to take the FE than passing it so I guess it's pretty moot anyways.

Sadly just calling yourself an engineer isn't illegal, it's only illegal to present yourself as having actually passed the PE and been given a license when you haven't. As long as Wu avoids signing off on a design or a building on the line where it says "PE's Signature" then her roleplaying can continue unchecked.

Still kind of annoying not a single reporter has responded to the engineering claims with a simple "Oh that's interesting, did you go to school for that because I thought you had mentioned journalism at some point?"

Electorate baffled as MA candidate runs on "Who's a Good Boy?" platform

2 - 3 per day?

Has John show his face in public even once under the auspices of an actual campaign event? By that I mean one which voters in his district could find out about ahead of time and actually go to?

That answer would be NO!

And political candidates have websites where they list events... we all know the state of his website.

So are we taking bets yet on how many (spoilers: zero) votes Wu is going to get? I think we need a betting pool for this shit.

CNN might have failed to ask the hard hitting questions... but that opening image. I have no words.

I want to think that image is meant to make Wu look like a massive kook, especially the quotes and the bra strap, but with MSM I have to assume they're just being a bunch of dummies who don't notice.

Didn’t notice? Oh, I would disagree. These are the other two images used in the intro. This seems intentional.

As you note, licensing engineers is a state issue.

The Massachusetts Legislature needs to grow a pair -- or Flynt/Wu needs to move to Texas, which actually went after companies that used "software engineer" as a job title to describe people who are (unlike Flynt/Wu) competent programmers. Hell, Texas is currently suing a chain of tire stores to force them to stop calling their locations Tire Engineers. The state's law even has specific exemptions for operators of locomotives and fire engines so they can still call themselves engineers.

If John lived in the Lone Star State -- and wouldn't that be great for about a million reasons? -- the state would force him to stop lying until he earned a four-year degree in engineering and passed the Software Engineering Principles and Practice of Engineering (PE) exam, things that are not possible in this universe. And the state's action against Flynt/Wu would be public record.

Edit to add:

It's like "Odalisque" if "Odalisque" had been painted by Richard Upton Pickman.

You are far too kind. It looks like the work of Francis Bacon to me,.

where does Wu claim to have trained as a journalist?

Good Ole Miss of course. You remember the school where the campus newspaper took out an order of protection against John Walker Flynt after he went berserk and trashed the place while screaming “sand nigger” at the professor. So yes Wu has lots of experience in Journalism. (Making Journalists hide under their desks while frantically dialing 911 counts.)
