It's not you. Brianna's art hasn't changed at all over the last decade and a half. Neither have the characters themselves as John originally planned for Rev60 to be essentially SocCon in space. John is just like Chris in that he had one idea, is convinced it's the best thing ever, and has spent years trying to make it a franchise. Only difference is that Brianna has now progressed to trying to rewrite his history to transform himself into one of shitty characters.

You can't have it both ways. How about this: they both got what they wanted out of the deal. Women trading sex for favors with powerful men isn't exactly a new thing. Bill Clinton is a creep and shouldn't be getting BJs from his interns but it's not like he held her down and forced her to perform for him. It's not even like he threatened to fire her or ruin her life if she didn't put out. As far as sexual harassment goes this barely even registers when you've got guys like Weinstein opening hotel doors for potential actresses in nothing but his birthday suit and implying they will never work in Hollywood again if they don't stay and watch him wank.

But that's Bri's thing. Bri's entire existence is based around dipping his toes in the water and immediately claiming to have swam to the deep end and back. I noticed this while marathoning this wild ride of a thread back when I first found it(still had over a thousand pages then too). Throughout the tweets and the podcast interviews, Bri claims to be an expert in something. This happens most often on Twitter, when Bri accuses someone of mansplaining over things like coding or auto repair, claiming to be an engineer, or something similar.
When Bri was John, he did some mediocre self-styled journalism that didn't even qualify as professional, and he dabs in it once in a while now through twitter shitposting. That makes him a professional journalist. GSK may exist only as a company on paper anymore, and the one game it shat out wasn't even made by him, but I definitely recall in podcast interviews as recent as a couple or so months ago at most he claimed that he "is the CEO of Giant Spacekat, which makes games".
I remember there was a post or two some ways back in this thread that this campaign was a scam not for money, but just so Brianna can add politician at best, or congressional candidate at worst, to his resume checklist of fields of profession. By this point I am actually inclined to believe that is what's going on. Brianna literally writes his own life. I think that's why I find him so fascinating compared to others.
So they are going to be selective with the verified status. I said it before, I'll say it again. Take that shit away from accounts like Trump and keep it on accounts like Bri. At worst, nothing significant happens but some circlejerking. At best, more salt. Maybe even some backlash against Twitter.

She's is primarying a four term Democratic congressman among other things. How dumb can you get thinking you're going to be this massive difference maker by replacing one veteran lawmaker with a freshman legislator ON THE SAME SIDE OF THE AISLE.
If she wins, she'd actually be weakening the Dems in the general election and if she wins the general she'd weaken their caucus in the house simply because she'd be a frosh legislator and not a four term incumbent. If I was advising the guy she's running against I'd hammer this point over and over in the runup. You want to defeat Trump's agenda? You vote for me, the guy that actually has won the district against the GOP challenger four times in a row.
FWIW, I did work in electoral politics (including advising campaigns) before getting burnt out on the stupid. Sorry for the powerlevel.
edit: ah christ, the district went 97% percent Dem the last time through. It's as safe a seat as it gets for them. In a way that just makes it even more pathetic. Go try and win a seat no other Dem has if you think you're such hot shit.

It has been posited by me and others who know Brianna way better than I do that there's a not-insignificant possibility she specifically chose this race because she knows she can't win it. One of many factors that have led to some of us dubbing it the scampaign.

The cascading sex scandals engulfing Hollywood and politics have touched a sitting Senator today, with Al Franken being pretty convincingly accused of being a pervy scumbag. What if -- what if, my friends -- Stephen Lynch gets hit by this and is forced to step down? What if it happens super close to the primaries? What if Brianna Wu, alias John Flynt, alias the Ghoul of Gamergate, ends up running for the Dem nomination unopposed?
