For the most part, the darkest attire you typically see on adults who want to be taken seriously professionally is charcoal gray or very dark navy blue and it's usually offset with some contrasting color like a lighter color shirt or blouse. All black is typically evening or funeral attire but John wouldn't know that. He doesn't how to properly dress or groom himself as a lady because he has never spent any meaningful time around any actual successful, classy women.
The dark, Adams Family/Marilyn Manson style make up is also not doing him any favors.
