All this talk of cars makes me squirm a bit, feel like i overpaid for mine...but mine actually drives, unlike Wu's. I also haven't dumped a sum of money equal to ten times the car's worth into bullshit.

Of the major races last night:

1. NJ Governor was a shoo-in, because at this point who the hell likes Chris Christie or his handpicked successor? You can thank God-Emperor Trump for putting Krispy Kreme out to pasture, by the way.

2. VA Governor was supposed to be a shoo-in, and the fact Gillespie was even competitive in the last month was a surprise.

3. NYC Mayor was the totally feckless Bill DeBlasio versus a tomato can / sacrificial lamb with absolutely no message other than "I'm Greek and I'm not DeBlasio! Vote for me!" The last pollster who came asking my opinion on Malliotakis was told to go find an archbishop to pray for a miracle.

4. The VA legislature is a genuine surprise ... but also reflects the increasingly Democratic nature of the state that has become DC's bedroom community.

The Republicans definitely need to get their shit together if they don't want an embarrassment in 2018, but Dem crowing is premature. It is, of course, wonderfully hilarious to watch "independent thinker and genuine lady" John Flynt sound exactly like the left-wing drone that he is (albeit one with a massive streak of self-interest).
Wu celebrating the win of a White cis het male billionaire.

It's important to remember just how insignificant these elections actually were. Republicans controlled 34 Governorships before yesterday. Now? They still control 33. The GOP is so dominant right now that this is just a drop in a bucket. Wait till next year when there will be elections in States that aren't Dark Blue like New Jersey or Purplish and joined at the hip to D.C like Virginia. For example. My home State of Wisconsin along with Ohio, Missouri and Florida the list goes on. In all likely hood Johnny boy won't be crowing much this time next year. But like you said the GOP needs to get it's shit together.

Is there a running list of all the "simple tech. solutions" candidate Wu has put forth to streamline government?

Many of these services, especially cheapo ones, have a really bad record and when they get the bare minimum, the other primary candidates often challenge them and enough of their signatures are bunk that the ballot petition gets rejected. Actually doing this shit right is somewhat expensive.

Political sperging here, so bare with me....
In my experience, even when petitions are gathered the "correct" way (at campaign events and house parties - stuff Wu doesn't do), there's probably around 10% that aren't valid. This could be because they're not registered, not registered with a party, registered by the wrong party, wrong district, etc. - the list is long and varies by state.

When you use paid petition gatherers, this can go much, much higher. The temp workers that gather these things typically don't give a shit who signs. Sure, they'll generally rush through their "are you a registered democratic voter that [blah blah blah]" spiel, but there are not doing any real due diligence to make sure that the signature is valid.

If 2,000 signatures are required, you'd probably want to get a minimum of 2,500 if you're doing it the "correct" way and over 3,000 if using paid petition gatherers. Something tells me Wu will turn in around 2,020 and call it a day, regardless of method and assuming she still cares enough about running for Congress in a few months.

All of this said, the signatures are probably still valid if they aren't contested - I can't say for sure, since I don't know how election law operates in Mass. This means that someone in a rival campaign would have to review every signature, check voter registration records, mark the invalid ones, and file a formal complaint. Depending on the state, this complaint could be with the party, the state elections administrator, or even require a lawsuit. Again, I don't know the formal process in Mass.

The cost of this ranges from a decent chunk of time and some paper and stamps to legal fees. Since the time investment alone is high, I doubt Lynch would care enough to bother unless 1) Wu suddenly looked viable, or 2) the costs are low, the total signature count barely clears 2,000, and a lot of names are obviously bad.

The only way I see Lynch contesting anything is if it's an easy process and the cost to challenge is lower than what he expects to spend in the primary. Since I anticipate his costs in the primary are just slightly north of $0, I don't see Lynch wasting his time with it.

2. VA Governor was supposed to be a shoo-in, and the fact Gillespie was even competitive in the last month was a surprise.

I LOLed at all of the political spergs that actually though Gillespie had a serious chance. It was always obvious to everyone outside of the right wing bubble that the guy wasn't going to win.

I seem to remember some of us saying John overpaid for his lemon, and then saying WTF when we worked out he'd spunked another 5 grand in repairs/trinkets.

So I thought I'd have a look to see what the GBP equivalent of 15K would buy you.

Amongst the 5 year old high specc'd TTs, Merc SLKs, Mini Coopers, Beemer Z4s and high specc'd Mazda MX-5s (as close to an actual "sports car" as you'll get) I spotted these beauties

And remind me again, what car did John dream of buying if he had the funds?

Is John saying that you should be able to use Bitcoin Biker tech to prove to anyone who you voted for?
Congratulations, you just reinvented vote-buying. In the Tammany Hall days they did it by putting grease on the voting lever for the machine candidate, and checking your hands after you came out of the booth before paying you. Now in Wu World you could do it right from your iPhone.

Next up: Brianna Wu endorses cooping. I wonder how many elections both Brianna Wu and John Flynt have voted in over the years?

It's true - any Democrat taking the votes of non-white women for granted deserves to lose. Which is why John will, because they don't know who he is and he's barely made any effort to tell them by actually campaigning in real life.

THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE, CRUCIAL DANGER SITUATION

It's hilarious to see Wu congratulate another transgender candidate, especially Roem. Roem ran one hell of a campaign and raised over half a million dollars from LGBT-friendly allies. Yeah, half a million dollars for a fucking state delegate campaign. Wu is running for U.S. Congress and barely cracked five figures in fundraising last quarter. Wu's a transgender running for a much higher profile seat than Roem, but has absolutely no campaign fundraising to show for it. Why is that? Could it be because LGBT folks recognize that Wu is a narcissistic self-promoter and lousy human being? Yep.

The only way Gillespie was going to win that election was going to be if his opponent decided to lose it. This has happened before. Ann Richards won the Texas governorship over Clayton Williams in 1990 because Williams was such a spectacularly bad candidate.

Along similar lines, the only way John is going to win the Democratic primary is if Lynch decides to release a photographe of him paying Osama bin Laden off while holding a paper dated September 12th, 2001.

I can confirm this is true. I haven't done this shit at a high level, but I have done some of the door to door shit involved, and even if you're a dedicated volunteer rather than a mercenary who is doing this shit because you actually want the candidate on the ballot and not because you're being paid by the signature, when you go through and vet them, some chunk of them is going to be questionable for whatever reason. When counting them, you discount for this and just count the ones that you're nearly certain are valid.

Those shitty services you hire don't do this. They hire crackheads and other unemployed idiots because it's such temporary and low paying work nobody with a real job would be doing it. Whenever you read a story about some election-related crime and people being arrested, it's usually because of idiots like these.

Could it be because LGBT folks recognize that Wu is a narcissistic self-promoter and lousy human being? Yep.

Don't forget a shitty ally by pretending not to be a tranny even despite being an obviously male 6 foot 4 hulking ogre of a man.

True but it doesn't bode well when elections go to democrats who historically don't get out to the polls in off-years. There's a lot of reason to think 2018 will not be auspicious for the GOP. But, while Wu might be somewhere in the vicinity of reasonable in that thought, it just makes his logic more absurd because he's not going to get beaten by a Republican, he's gonna get his ass handed to him by a democrat.

Roem basically ran 100% on local infrastructure while her opponent did the whole identity politics thing. This is a case of a person taking their constituents’ concerns seriously and running on that, because at the local level that’s what people give a shit about. I could write an essay on what Roem did right compared with what Wu is doing wrong but while the LGBT money undoubtedly helped, Roem is a case of what local politics are supposed to be, a person pledging to fix a community problem that a lot of people care about.

To address that question, let's take a look at the person with whom Wu was preening on with about how Trump has pissed off all the "women."

I can't say "why" there are people this delusional but they're not hard to spot!
>US Navy vet

Sometimes I wonder if Chris was really in the wrong when he said he wanted homos to join the military to die in explosions.

Looking through that list, almost all of it is non-essential.

I've bought my fair share of shitboxes in my time, so i'll categorize the list.

Essential
-Replaced coil pack
-Replaced airbag control unit
-Replaced airbag
-Recode keys (Keys are linked to locks and immobilisers. So its likely if Wu replaced the locks, the keys needed to be re-encoded to the new unit installed)

Non-essential
-Replaced Glovebox
-Replaced air conditioning controls
-Amp wiring replacement
-Antennae amp replacement (Its the signal that turns on your amplifier, it didn't deserve another point because its covered above)
-Pulled door dings
-Regrounded electrical system with 4 gage (lol wrong spelling its gauge to reference the wiring gauge).
-Driver seat electrical load error (probably fucked wires, didn't Wu say he was getting a new wiring loom?)
-Replaced wiper pump for headlights
-Replaced wiper pumps for windshield
-Replaced hosing for wiper system
-Replaced headlights
-Replaced pollen filter system (Theres no system, its a single panel. like replacing your coffee filter)
-Replaced power steering sensor
-Replaced temperature sensor (calling it an o2 sensor gives you no cred points)
-Repaired broken passenger seat frame
-Repaired car battery housing
-Repaired drivers side body damage
-Replaced and repainted rear of car
-Replaced rear bumper (You just said that dumbass)
-Repaired audi rear badge (You said that 2 points up dumbass)
-Repaired faulty rear seat latch
-Replaced oil filter
-Replace car lock control unit (see essentials)
-Remove paint guard film (for normies, we call this 'laquer'. its also what every fucker does when they respray a panel lol)
-Repair paint chips in front bumper
-Repaint front passenger spoke chip (So repaint the scuffed alloy wheel?)
-Fix door ding drivers side

Upgrades
-
Double DIN stereo upgrade
-Removed external antennae
-Added carplay stereo
-Replaced steering wheel (pretty sure Wu replaced it with a momo ripoff)
-Addung cabin mic for siri (who you bullshitting Wu, this came included with the stereo lol)
-Replaced cabin interior lights
-Added LEDs around around gear shifter
-Added gated shifter piece (gear gaitor lol)

Unexplained
-Removed interior manual shifter pieces (Enlighten me what the fuck this means. EDIT:it means Wu unscrew a gearknob and unhooked a gear gaitor lol).

If John wanted a legal car he would only have to sort out essentials. Everything else is vanity points.
Any idea of what the essentials cost vs the non essentials

Fortunately you all are too lazy and stupid to ever live up to this idiotic rhetoric.

There are many Governor seats up for reelection that are currently occupied by Republicans. Many like Sam Brownback, that Maine Governor, and possibly Scott Walker are vastly unpopular. I expect them to lose a few in 2018. Conversely theres a lot of Democrats up for reelection in the Senate so 2018 is going to be an interesting year
