I love that comic. 100% accurate. Every single time there's common-sense legislation involving firearms there's always some window-licking congressional retard who wants to fuck everything up by abolishing gun ownership. It's not even solely the left that does that shit, either, there's a contingent on the right that do it too - it's just more prevalent on the left, and this has actually always been one of my biggest sticking points with the left politically. I generally agree with democratic tenets, but not on this one.
Like, look at the Assault Weapons ban. On the surface, common-sense, right? Don't let civilians buy shit like Antimateriel Rifles or full-auto weapons. Except that the ban also includes a bunch of insane shit targetting private vendors and collectors, people who've actually gone out of their way to get the restricted licenses and such for them (I.E. trying to void the grandfather clause), and other shit that won't inconvenience people actually responsible for gun violence at all, bit will completely fuck over otherwise law-abiding citizens for no discernable reason.
Wu is a great example of this shit in action. No matter the circumstances, she will unilaterally declare that all guns are evil forever because at her core she's an authoritarian prick and her solution for everything is fucking over the rights of everyone else so she can feel comfortable.
