Everything I've heard so far is she's a) basically a big business friendly Republican who just says 'progressive' shit that nobody outside of tech websites believes, and b) she's trying to primary a very popular Democrat while being essentially a Republican.
If you ever glance at Gamer Ghazi when Wu thread pop up, they're all completely sick of her, and Ghazi posters would be the only people who would support such a trainwreck. My theory is that Wu is going in knowing she won't do well, and hopes to just be an eternal candidate the same way she was "making Rev60" for years with no real endgame for years. She's going to just campaign for years as some kind of radical leftist that corporate Dems are trying to keep out but she's not giving up! So keep that money coming we can do this guys!
I don't see it working as well as the videogame shit did, though.
John’s political views are inconsistent and unsophisticated. I think he understands there is a difference between the parties and that the one he picked, in his mind, is good and the other is bad, but that is about extent of it. There is no nuance or any deeper, understanding or foundation based on any kind of principles.
His “platform” is not really in sync with the party he represents, and he certainly doesn’t have the endorsement or buy in of the actual Democratic leadership in his district. They also know that he has no real shot, but I imagine they are willing to see it through as it makes them look more progressive and inclusive to have a ghoulish troon as a “contender”
John’s campaign is nothing more than a cargo cult approximation of what, in his tiny brain, he believes a campaign should look like on social media. The evidence is everywhere: the bizarre campaign ads that are not even the correct length to be usable as a TV spot, the co-working space he never goes to, the lack of any type of meaningful engagement with the community, the absence of any actual activities one would associate with a real campaign.
This isn’t about winning an election. I’m pretty sure John is keenly aware that he won’t even make it on the ballot, let alone a member of Congress. To John this is about running an official enough looking of a grift that he can introduce himself as “former congressional candidate Briana Wu”.
My hope is that this train keeps a rollin’ Long enough for him to get his wish of some mainstream media coverage and that the exposure leads to him beaing revealed as the fraud that he is. However, I’m pretty sure as the donations dry up, he is just going to move on to the next scam before that happens.
