It looks like an action sci-if show with a lot of explosions. It doesn't really look anything like Star Trek.

The reboot movies, while somewhat fun, really dumbed down Star Trek and lowered the bar. Voyager, the "progressive" one with the ground breaking lady captain was so shitty, they had to go as far as to put some broad with giant fake tits in a skin tight catsuit on the screen just to get people to watch.

I can see why this appeals to John and has not been well received by actual fans. Maybe if this goes well they will do a reboot where the entire crew are all space trannys.
