It's much the same as Bob "Moviebob" Chipman's insistence that he outsmarted his childhood therapist by reading a bunch of psychology textbooks. Lolcows tend to have a much higher estimation of their own abilities than they actually do; that is, when they're not just making shit up whole cloth to try and seem like geniuses.
