One cow who has a genuine story of rejection is Russell Greer. His birth family were in a stable financially comfortable marriage when they had twins. They kept his perfect sister and rejected him because of his facial deformity. He did later find and contact them and was rejected again (in large part because of his unhinged behavior) but from his perspective did nothing wrong. That's got to hurt. He's well known for playing victim, claiming all his troubles are due to his disability causing people to 'discriminate' him and his excessive plightsperging in lawsuits and across the internet, but this is something he's never really tried to milk.
