I think you're misreading this one. "Family" could mean anything, especially given John's penchant for lying. It could mean Frank's family, though it's unlikely they'd want anything to do with his creepy Frankenstein fetish. It could mean "found family" that troons are fond of talking about, the others in the cult that enable their delusions, but again, less likely (and they could be covered by "friends" in the sentence). Most likely, John's talking about Frank alone, who he would consider family by marriage and basically handled everything with regards to John's cockchop.

John's story of having a messy falling out with his actual family once he trooned out has remained consistent, and they certainly would not have spent a single dime on helping him mutilate himself. Even if some of the details have changed when John has tried to paint a better picture of himself as the sane and reasonable tranny being horribly mistreated by his uncaring parents, I see no reason to doubt the basics of what happened as he described it: he demanded a cockchop, they said no, he freaked out, they cut ties.

If you have any doubts, consider this: if John's family did indeed feel comfortable helping him get horrifically mutilated, why have they not appeared a single time in his life since then, including around the time of this post? Sure, maybe he could have done something else that would get them to disown him, but the simplest explanation is the correct one here.

The answer to your question is in the next post. John lied about what the surgery was for.

The family being mislead about what they were paying for doesn't forclose them paying for it.

Lying to the family about what they were paying for also fits what happened next. John waved his titty skittles letter around as a justification for the lie.

I get where you're going with this, but you have to consider the context of when John was talking about his cockchop.

I broke this down in an earlier post, but there are distinct phases of John's relationship with the truth with regards to his trooning out. Roughly speaking, they are:
  • Birth to sometime in late 2005/early 2006: John is a man and refers to himself as such. Sometime at the tail end of this period, he falls headfirst into tranny TF fiction and starts to develop a fetish of himself as a woman. The end of this part of the timeline is fuzzy, but he has implied that he started therapy during his last year at Ole Miss.
  • After the above to around 2007/8: John begins the process of trooning out and starts calling himself a transsexual. His family cuts him off, he throws a tantrum, and he moves to Denver. He is an avid participant in the Susan's Place forum, where he openly discusses the hardships of being a tranny and has no qualms admitting he is one. Sometime in this period, he meets Frank and they hit it off and get married.
  • After the above to 2024: (These LJ entries are at the start of this time period.) John no longer refers to himself as a trans woman and starts the true and honest woman LARP. He gets himself banned from Susan's Place for looking down on other troons. He gets his dick cut off, but because he's pretending to be an actual woman, he lies about what the surgery was for. He then begins his LARP as a woman in tech, then journalism, then politics, then activism, and so on. He has Twitter troons on standby to nuke the account of anyone who brings up the fact he's a man.
  • 2024 to present: Finally realizing that pretending to be a true and honest woman doesn't give him much power in the progressive stack anymore, and after a few rounds of plastic surgery to make himself think he passes better, John finally comes clean about his troonery, admitting to what everyone knew for a decade at that point.
Lying about the cockchop wasn't for the benefit of his family to get them to pay for it. If he had actually had a urinary tract defect that needed correcting, they would have known long before, so they would see through his lying about it. Furthermore, as mentioned, they were already long out of his life by then when he bitched at them for not continuing to fund his existence in perpetutity. No, this lie was solely to support his true and honest woman LARP, scoring pity and well-wishes from his followers for getting surgery without actually disclosing the true purpose of why he was.

I agree, and also remember that he's claiming that he had a "painful urinary tract since birth". His family would've known that and had that corrected around the time he started potty training at the latest because it would've been obvious. He's such a bad liar and I don't doubt that particular lie was for his "audience" rather than anyone close to him.
 
Every time I see this post on the front page I think to myself that John Walker Flynt is the perfect assassin name but even if he shot a politician the media would still call him Brianna Wu.
So even if he does snap and shoots a conservative politician or anti troon talking head, thanks to the liberal media we're not going to get the satisfaction of hearing the villainous name of John Walker Flynt after it happens.

It was the reason he moved to colorado when his parents cut him off. The "aunt" was an old tranny, of course, that used his house as a shelter for upcoming troons.
