I would imagine he sees his threatened disavowal of the progressive cause as a means of frightening his fellows into being nice to him. I’m pretty sure he genuinely believes he’s an important and beloved public figure

The problem is 'not affirming' specifically is treated as conversion therapy by trans-infected jurisdictions.

Of course, if a therapist refuses to affirm a client's perception that his right leg is an alien implant and he needs to cut it off, that isn't 'conversion therapy'.

Trans ideology and the way it has beclowned the world makes me despair.

It is pure circular reasoning. John presupposes the outcome. The whole point of the therapy is to sort out the mental issues that drive people to troon out, John is demanding that we throw all of that ut and skip straight to indulging delusions.
