I'm aware of that. I didn't want to get too geeky in that post.

However, I'm not aware of any general rule that people can't "plead up." I think this would generally be insanely dumb and judges would tend to be "what the fuck" about okaying such deals, but I'm not aware of any general rules against it (perhaps because it's so insanely stupid it's never been even tried to the point of getting to an appeals court).

Sorry. Didn't mean to lecture.

My guess would be if someone tried to do such a ridiculous thing, the judge would most likely insist on a psych eval, and the prosecutors would go along just to cover their own ass. "Your honor, even though I've been charged with manslaughter, I want to plead guilty to murder." Frankly it sounds like an ineffective assistance of counsel appeal in the making.

I think there would have to be some serious consideration as to why the plea was going this way and some advantage to the defendant, like the weird example of pleading up to a felony with no jail time as opposed to a misdemeanor with jail time.

Also, remember anything involving Jace was an elaborate troll played on us, perhaps the best troll ever.

She rails against lynch for beliefs he used to hold, but the shit she said on ADN not many years ago was way worse. Lots of fat shaming Lots of nerd shaming.

Some memories include how she would bash android users as fat, stupid, and poor, citing some infographic "data." Another time, the massive cunt bragged about how she made a fake Facebook account to harass a mentally ill "friend." I recall the friend madwe up a fake spouse and Wu made an account pretending to be the spouse's sibling. Classy thing to do to someone suffering from mental illness. I remember her hating on moms and kids a lot.

Just general stupid shit.

Yet another one to add to the "things that didn't happen" file.

We should make clear: There seems to be discussion that Wu can sometimes look passably female, perhaps more so early after SRS when John was much thinner and younger....

...but, our photos from the period, such as the Res Evil cosplay and the Bush war protest show a Wu that is, shockingly, even LESS appealing than now, looking like some sort of feral Nosferatu troon with corn niblet teeth, covered with a sheen of sweat, no lips, and scarred legs striated with orthorexic jogging muscle.

TL;DR SHIT THAT NEVER HAPPENED. John is the queen of SELF-MYTHOLOGIZING, and the sad part is, around those ignorant to him, he often gets away with it, whether the brags are personal, social, or career-aggrandizing.

Its one of the more consistently irritating parts of Wu-tracking which we've all learned to just roll our eyes and laugh at.

EDIT: Still, @ZKWNordman , this was fascinating. Any more bits of Wu-lore we haven't seen? Wu seems to have gotten on forums involving every significant aspect of his "Brianna" cosplay: Tech, gaming, motorcycles, trooning (at one point) etc.
 
I love how she says a guy getting on her bike is "boys being boys" and she's swooning about getting picked up but fast forward five years later and now it's "29000 cat calls I got walking over this morning are literally killing people"

It can't go on forever though. She's chosen to attempt a career with huge amounts of public visibility, and some of the lies are just too easily checkable.

At some point surely some journalist is going to see the "I was an investigative journalist and reported on crime in MS" thing and actually do a Lexis Nexis search for her name. That's the kind of thing any hack with a full time job at a newspaper can do. If it's not initiated by a journalist, Lynch's camp will certainly be doing this kind of thing when primary season comes around. They may even have their ammo packed and ready.

While I'm astonished at the lies Wu has managed to smuggle past journalists in the gamergate era, at some point the fluff pieces are going to end and the hit pieces begin.

I totally agree, hopefully not optimistically.

It's comical how long-dead lies, like the crime-beat (shoe leather, remember that?) reporter will resurface.

It;s actually one of the most consistent aspect of Wu, he literally cannot write on a subject without claiming authority as his fetish group of choice, or fantasy career du jour.

One of my faves, which @Jaimas did well to include in the Wiki footnotes, is when Wu, apropos of absolutely nothing, tells members of a forum thread that he doesn't have a dick. They were discussing cell phones, I think? Hilarious.

Anyway, the day the narrative crumbles, all Wu-threaders owe ourselves a drink. Here's hoping!

No, it means that not everyone will be able to get a job even if they want one, they will always need it. UBI has not been proven yet, and to be honest I have my doubts about it improving innovation or such in people. I may be a bit of a cynic, but I just feel like it may lead to people being lazy and just trying to live on UBI, and not growing past that, if you don't need to work to get anything, then why go out of your way?

There are several ways people have proposed dealing with automation, because it isn't the wonderful progressive thing people make it out to be, it hurts people, workers in particular. That's why Lynch voters are never going to jump over to Wu's platform.
