If Trump were really offing his detractors as Wu alleges, I think twitter would be a graveyard of inactive accounts by now.

It's funny that Wu is plugging Matt Taibbi's book because when he ran an English-language alt-weekly in Moscow, he regularly extorted his female employees for anal sex.

I actually emailed a whole bunch of feminist bloggers about this a while ago. I only got one response:

Fbjt3ET

But Wu didn't respond to my follow-up question. How strange that she's promoting the work of someone whom she knows is a sexual assailant.

EDIT: The broken image was just an attempt to post the same image and I'm not sure how to edit it out.
Yeah, it was during the time he wrote for The Exile. I actually have the trade paperback-type edition of the collected stuff he and Mark Ames wrote. It was the beginning of Taibbi crafting his identity as the neo-HS Thompson, full of tales of wanton drug use and casual sex with underage Russian poon. Taibbi actually USED to be more middle of the road; in The Great Derangement, he alternates pot shots 1-for-1 with both the fundamentalist Xian right and the Occupy WS Neo-liberalism....that we know now as the SJWs.

Seeing as how he titles his recent collection of rolling stone essays: "Insane Clown President", I can't help but think that he's tested the waters, knows what side his bread's buttered on, and is following the zeitgeist of liberal Trump-bashing. But I haven't read it. Doesn't look too interesting, from the bits I've seen.

Trust Wu to only have a surface level understanding of both the authors and works she LISTENS TO, (not reads, as another kiwi rightly pointed out) right?

"Children will continue to be slaughtered" yup there's a sound and balanced argument right there

Okay, I'm not going to get into a big gun control thing. No, background checks are not universal. But my bugabear is when people like Wu talk about things like 'Sandyhook' and then bring up background checks- because background checks would have done fuck-all to prevent Sandyhook. Or any other one of these mass shootings they love to bring up. It's intellectual dishonesty of the highest sort- or it would be, if I didn't believe it might just be rank ignorance from Wu who just parrots the BS talking points of the left that sound meaningful.

Although I guess I should be 'happy' Wu hasn't blamed gamergate for school shootings yet. That's probably :optimistic: now that I think of it.

Doesn't matter what weapon is used, you can look at the school attacks in places like China and Japan where there is strict gun control laws, people will use whatever they can to attack the vulnerable. Wu is too damn stupid to understand that. It wont matter if the States removes and bans guns, the mentally insane will use knives, box cutters, pens, IED's, anything they can to hurt people.

Well was the teenager wearing something that you're not supposed to wear due to safety reason in case of emergency landing/ crash? If so, then fuck off Wu. Also, some stuff about this, though I rarely trust anything on Snoops.

Oh this was built for the internet rage machine. Something that on first glance, with a nice clickbait title sounds like sexism, and looking even 10 seconds deeper you learn they're flying for free and because of this there's a dress code. They want, in exchange for your free tickets, for you to not dress like a hobo and treat the airlines like they used to be when they first started. But no one goes 10 seconds deeper.

Also the dress code applies equally to men. Some bearded hipster in a hoodie and torn jeans would also be refused.

And of course by some magical autistic alchemy, in John's mashed potato brain this is now an issue about a corporation sexualising minors, just fucking what.

Legendary Audi TT...:story:

I can't stress enough how much that car is a shit box, an overpriced VW.

Legendary cars are not outfitted in plastic which you can see in John's photos.

Just to add:
I've traveled several times for free on multiple airlines because of work and family connections. There is a strong (and reasonable) dress code. It applies for most airlines, every gender, and every flight.
sjw's love making Mountains out of molehills.

And John doesn't understand anything in those diagrams

idk, a lot of the people in that class might have been functionally exceptional. I ended up charging $50 a pop to do their homework.

How? I mean, I could get having troubles with DSPs becaude your univeristy is exceptional and doesn't teach you advanced calculus (like fourier, laplace or differential ecuations) beforehand. But geez, just fucking do some research or ask your professor. Or don't be afraid of repeating the course/class next year.

Back on topic, Wu probably doesn't understand schematics and their notation and will never be an engineer.

In my experience, working almost 20 years in tech now, women tend to shy away from it after the heavy stuff gets thrown at them, and it generally tends to be stereotypical things women don't like: math, algorithms, and heavy lifting.

In IT you'd be surprised to see how many women drop out when they realize that you're essentially a plumber.

I've worked some jobs that paid well for essentially unqualified labor where you'd learn by working and actually gain some useful skills. One of those jobs paid extremely well and it had fantastic perks, so naturally there were women(and men) that became very interested in it. They'd ask "are they hiring? Can you get me an in? I totally could do that job," Sure, I could do that, just show up on Monday and work a week or two to see if you can handle it.
So they show up, walk through the door, turn on their heels and walk out again. At the time, and for the past 80+ years, there had never been a woman working even a single minute there despite many being interested. Most men at least managed to go until lunch before breaking down and going home. It wasn't a job or environment hostile to women, but you could argue it was hostile to humans(all 63 genders and non-genders).
That's why the pay and perks were so good, to retain the workers.

In tech I've only seen a couple of women, always when it was time to get/renew certifications and things like that, but my field is narrow and as you said it's essentially being a plumber.
