By the time John is done wit this car he could have bought a late model certified pre-owned TT for the same amount.

What a fucking colossal idiot.

Um... H&K doesn't make anything called an "MK5." And an MP5 is not a rifle.

That whole gun thread is really rife with bullshit. "[MA requires] licensing your gun with local police." No they fucking don't.

"You know damn well what I'm talking about. (the disconnect is that I don't)." ~Brijohnna Wu

There's the MR55 series. John clearly knows nothing about guns.

So he's going with the "I can't define it, but I know it when I see it" argument.

I've noticed lately how Wu deflects questions that would reveal his lack of knowledge on a subject with suggestions that answering such a simple question is beneath him. "Define assault rifle." "Please, everyone knows what I'm talking about." "OK, so define it." "Just assume that I know what I'm talking about!"

Probably because every time he does try to go into specifics on anything, it reveals how uninformed he is, e.g. moon rocks.

I agree John, Mortal Kombat 5 was an absolutely mediocre at best game and most people aren't missing out on anything by not playing it. But it was made by Midway not H&K. I agree with Wu here but it seems rather odd that she would start talking about the quality of fighting games from the early 2000's while she's supposed to be talking about guns.

MK5!!!

:stress:

It's like he's trying to satirize the democratic party. I guess he means the MP5 which... also isn't an assault rifle, especially in semi-auto form (which is the only type available for sale to civilians).

I would hope a legislator would consider technical details beyond "YOU know what I mean!" but to be honest that's about the level we've been dealing with in grown-up congress for awhile anyway...

As a congresswoman engineer from Mississippi, please understand that I know what I'm doi-

So instead of paying an Audi tech to reflash her computer for $1,000, she's gonna have frank buy a $6,000 Audi chip re-programmer so she can do it herself.... If "hacking" your car was that easy, mechanics would have been doing it for years and not spending the majority of their paychecks on tools.

One'll get you ten that Flynt/Wu has never heard of an OBD scanner and thinks he can hook his Mac up to the Audi's OBD system and send instructions forcing it to recognize a non-OEM airbag module.

Someone needs to ask Brianna about his position on shoulder things that go up.

EDIT TO ADD: To be fair,™ the letters MK do represent a certain type of weapon in German. Specifically, the Maschinenkanone. I have to agree with Flynt/Wu that no civilian needs to have a machine canon. Here's a picture of one:

It's for killing rats in the garage, I swear!

Another $1000 for that Audi? Geez, Wu really got herself a bargain there... If I am correct she now dumped as much money into that car as she originally paid for it.

So relatable!
Maschinenpistole
Not a gun-nut here, but it translates to "automatic pistol" or "sub-machine gun"... the difference between what a rifle and a pistol is depends on the kind of bullets that pop out the front and wether you can hit shit further away with it. I think.

So yes Wu is talking shit, since the MP5 isn't an assault rifle.

In USA law, in an effort to stop the gangsters with their tommy guns, congress passed the 1934 National Firearms Act. It laid out very specific categories for firearms, and if you fell in one of the "NFA item" categories, you would have to register it with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, (the current wait time is) wait at least 6 months, some take over a year for them to file your paperwork, and pay $200. You would also have to pay a $200 'tax' every time you wanted to transfer ownership of your NFA item, i.e. firearm regulated under the act.

In 1934, $200 was worth $3600 today. You could get a car with $200. You had to pay the price of a car for the privilege of 'manufacturing' and transferring ownership (selling) the item. If you were a manufacturer, you had to pay $3600 to hope someone was rich enough to pay a $3600 tax ontop of the price of a $30 gun.

Technically in the USA, a rifle is a firearm with an overall length of at least 26 inches, and a barrel length of 16 inches. If the barrel was too short, it would be considered a "short barreled rifle and be regulated under the National Firearms Act.

A handgun is defined as being designed to be held with one hand, with a maximum overall length requirement, I'm not sure of. This is where it gets really stupid.

Popular AR15 style and other rifles can be manufactured today under 26 inches overall, and a barrel with less than 16 inches. If you don't attach a butt stock to it, it is legally considered a handgun. By attaching a butt stock to a handgun, you have "manufactured" a short barrel rifle because now, with a stock, the gun is magically converted to be "designed" with 2 hands.

Automatic weapons have been heavily restricted for the past 83 years under the NFA. Assault rifles by definition must have full-auto or burst fire. They're regulated to hell already.

tl;dr Wu and other anti-gun retards are pushing more regulation on top of endless legislation

The ATF can throw you in jail for 10 years if you put the wrong $5 evil scary baby-killing accessory on your gun, like a plastic grip, unless you pay the $200 fee for the ATF not to raid your house, imprison you, and kill your dog. It's an extortion fee after inflation made NFA items even possibly economically viable, 80 years later.

If anyone tells you we need to do something about "assault rifles" you should know that person has zero knowledge of the law in the USA and their opinion on new laws should be discarded.

Well, technically a rifle has to have (or have had at one point) a stock. IIRC If it meets the barrel and OAL requirements but never had a stock then there's a good chance it's a plain jane title 1 (the top level definition for most guns) which have similar purchasing restrictions to handguns (because rifles and shotguns are specifically exempted from the 21-to-buy rule).

They are mostly a legal curio and exceedingly uncommon as typically they are kind of impractical to actually shoot and you won't find them in stores.

Investigated for what, imported badthink, as opposed to the locally-sourced variety? RT is directly funded by the Russian government and Al Jazeera was founded by and continues to be largely owned by the House of Thani, rulers of Qatar, and nobody really gives many fucks about either (not even viewers, in Al Jazeera America's case, leading to its closure last year; quite a nice sale Al Gore made there, though).

Fucking exceptional.

I'm pretty sure Wu is just an extremely low information voter who thinks talking to or working with the Russian government is a crime as a private entity not running for office.
