So I was looking for info on what John is sperging about today, what Lynch had done in the State House to make him twitch angrily, and I came across an article that begins thusly:
Massport had just approved Governor William F. Weld’s plan to build a stadium for the New England Patriots on the agency’s land along the South Boston waterfront. In doing so, Massport had ignored residents who feared it would flood the neighborhood with traffic and rowdy tailgaters.
Lynch, then the state senator from South Boston, stormed into the office of Massport’s director, Peter Blute.
“You come after my people, and I’ll come after your throat,” Lynch warned.
I cannot wait to see him take John on.

And re: Wu's psychology; I think it's important to understand that, as disgusting as this "Mama the librarian" look is....
....this IS what it looks like when Wu tries with his appearance. This is what Wu thinks professional attire, translated thru his aesthetic, is. To whit: John died his hair a neutral brown, got rid of his beloved Sarkeesian-red streak, to be professional. The hair in this pic, for John, is astonishingly clean and styled. Though it appears dirty and reused upon Kiwi-inspection, this outfit ISN'T "Star Wars T, gut belt o' fail, and motorcycle boots with vague stick-combed up-do and Beatz-headphones-as-hairband" that Johnny favored for 3 years solid. Even the too-small glasses, in John's favorite color, red, were supposed to be progress towards being a big girl. I think John saw them as a notable accessory that would become his signature. John desperately wants to be famous enough to have signature glasses, etc, a la Elton John or somesuch.
Here's the problem, though: i suspect John has a loathing of going out in public. This plus goobergrape, and wanting attention, became "Hallp! They're gonna kill me! bodyguards! Bomb sweepers @ cons!" ....but the reality is, John KNOWS, I suspect, how terrible he looks. He said as much during that "Goodbye to John" suspected post, something along the lines of: "I know I'll never be beautiful, but I pass pretty well...". I think this explains why John's twitter feed never has pics of him, only Frankie. And John, thusly, isn;t going to go to the mall and shop at H&M, forever 21, or Chicktoria's Secret.....Could you imagine that? It would be hysterical; Johnny-boy towers over everyone.
No, jOhn buys his clothes online, does it rarely, and when he finds something he likes, he wears it until.....well, until it has those disgusting giant holes that the jeans in the veeery first pics of his "office" showed.
TL;DR Yes, this look was, in fact, John trying.

The vindictive tone in this is really disgusting.
Even Trump wasn't this much of a vengeance seeking ass when he was campaigning. He made a lot of hay over wanting to enforce the laws against illegals, but he made sure to remind people he was doing it so the people would benefit as a majority, and even threw in lots of reminders he had no hate in his heart for legal immigrants.
Wu is basically saying they want the job to spite Lynch for a small niche of people he denies he's a part of of and spits on when he finds it politically and/or socially expedient.

That's the one. What has John's dander up is Lynch's proposing an amendment to a hate crimes bill in the legislature at the time that would have allowed for a "gay panic" defense. Which ain't exactly great, but it also happened 20 fucking years ago.

From reading that article. Lynch will literally fight for his district. Brianna has no hope in hell in winning. He's even willing to visit the Middle East, a place Wu wouldn't be caught dead in.

Reading that article really clarified for me how poorly John chose his opponent. This is a guy who knows his district like the back of his hand and who has been representing it a hell of a lot longer than his tenure in Congress indicates. His constituents are not going to give a wet shit about John's boutique issues, be they NASA, women in tech, or gay rights. I'm willing to bet less than 10% have even heard of GamerGate. They're not going to care that he's out of step with the Democratic party panic attack about Trump, and they sure as hell not going to care about some piece of state legislation from two decades ago, especially considering it was probably people like those in his district at the time who wanted provisions of that sort added to the bill. It's going to be a total bloodbath.
Of course, if you're cynical about John's motives for running, that really makes Lynch the perfect opponent.

almost perfect, except lynch isnt biting, Wu needs the 'victim' status, the little guy against the establishment and the donations that would undoubtly pour in from the wutards..
But Lynch just isnt engaging bri, TBF he doesnt really need to this early. I like to think he sniggers at bri rants desperate for his attention, whilst slowly in the background lynch's team have a good old rummage through bri bris past..
I think bri has underestimated the intelligence of a career politician...

When I look at a Congressional candidate, I expect to see someone trying seriously to present themselves as a worthy representative of the American people. I do not expect to be able to tell what style of underwear they have on by the elastic lines cutting into their body fat under a too-small dress.
