I wonder if we are seeing the beginning of a split in human society.

We have on one hand those who do well in the real world and thrive under its conditions.

And now we have people like Johhny who basically would rather lead fake lives on line then try to live real lives in the real world.

You can see the divergence of mores and values between the two groups and as VR technology accelerates will the 2nd social group abandon on the real world entirely to live thier fakes lives online only?

Do you ever hear John talk about any real, stereotypical "girly" interests? Like clothes, shopping, hairstyles, makeup, etc?

The problem is, and as they would increasingly see that set of whiners has to rely increasingly on those who thrive. They'd become a dead end and slowly die off.
 
@GleamingTheQ-Bert John doesn't know how to clean his house let alone his clothes. He doesn't know how to put his own makeup on. He has no friends to talk about shopping with and he has no style when it comes to hair.
 
One of the quickest, easiest things John could do to feminize himself is get those giant eyebrows professionally shaped. Y'know, like a real woman.

John has no style whatsoever. His outfits consisted of giant belt, long top, tights, and big stripper boots.

It's all he would ever wear for interviews and talks.
