She thinks her personal life is incredibly appealing to the average voter and helps her connect with them. In an old-left, somewhat industrial district. They must want a quirky gamer "girl" with strong opinions on mansplainers.
Also, those specs are an unhinged idea. Taking recordings of voters on their doorstep isn't a vote winner, it's going to piss people off even if her district was in Silicon Valley where a campaign livestream might be thought fun.
