First of all, justifying anything based on practices from 3000 fucking years ago is beyond idiotic.

Secondly, John is usually focused on issues where he has no skin in the game, because he's a giant hypocrite. He's abandoned things like climate change, which he once claimed was the biggest existential threat, because it doesn't align with his desire to have the most eco-unfriendly toys. He used to care about transportation in Boston, but dropped it when it became clear he just wanted less traffic for his porsche trips.

Before he officially acknowledged his trans status, his message was simply "trannies have rights too!" and claimed to be a friend of anyone who identified as trans. Now he's throwing them all under the bus so he can claim the status of World's Best Tranny without accepting any blame for being part of the problem, and they are rightfully pissed. His "I only wanted to live quietly as a woman" shtick doesn't reconcile with his history of barging into women's and trans issues for clout.

His other big thing now is being the only adult in the room. So basically he let the children burn the house down while he was, what, going to Disney? Speedrunning a video game? What leadership!

John's preoccupation with the word transexual is a lazy attempt at pretending that he is in some other category that is exempt from criticism and backlash. There is no clinical basis for his distinction. His obsession with the phrase "old school standards" is an equally lazy false conflation of standards of care with diagnostic criteria. He is wrong in doing so.

It's basically virtue signalling vs. truth, only with Wu you never know if anything he says is really true as he's so full of shit.

I find it baffling that he thinks that the trans movement just needs to weed out the "minority" of extremists and nutters and it'll be just fine. Those people aren't the minority, John. Where can you go to find a congregation of the "reasonable troons"? Who are the figureheads of such a group? I know you're trying to position yourself as that, John, but we all know that you're just a grifter, plus tbh you also fit in the "nutter" category.
 
I view a compromise with John like a brownie tray where the brownies are 50% dogshit rather than 100% dogshit. Sure, I guess the former is numerically closer to what I’d want, but in practice one shouldn’t suffer any dogshit at all.

Opposing sides arbitrarily “Meeting in the middle” for its own sake is the dumb person’s idea of how a nuanced smart person would resolve a conflict. It doesn’t get to the root of anything or bother to understand why the sides are opposed. The approach is actually one of the least nuanced and most reductive, and it rarely leads to ideal solutions outside of very clear-cut quantitative issues.

When John refers to 3000 years ago, I assume he's referring to the cult of Cybele. It was intentionally brought into Rome, from the near East, due to a growing fertility crisis. Cybele was hornt, I guess. The cause of the crisis isn't entirely clear. The consensus seems to be, the Romans really liked their lead, including consuming it directly in various cures and other such things. Their favorite paint colors were made with lead. You get the message. Feel free to look into the effects of lead poisoning. Fauci's whereabouts, at the time, have not been confirmed. It's assumed that he would have approved.

It's hard to find much mention of it, but there are plenty of hints that the Romans were familiar with hallucinogens among other substances, and mystery cults used them. So imagine a bunch of drunk, high, lead poisoned dudes whipping themselves into a frenzy. The whipping was literal, apparently. It wasn't called the Day of Blood for no reason. At the end, off comes the junk.

Whether they were tricked into it, drugged into it, rendered tarded from lead, no one knows. Only woke pop sources try to claim that they were true and honest ladies of antiquity. I haven't run into anything that suggested that the average Roman wanted anything to do with them. Quite the opposite, it appears. In a culture that valued masculinity, well, I know what I think of troons. Then again, I haven't done a deep dive. The cult has popped up a few times in podcasts I listen to. If I look into it deeper, I'm not looking at anything that doesn't predate the trans frenzy. You do you.

In the end though, Wu comparing himself to a bunch of fanatical, doped up, cultists does sound like a solid fit.

2005 seems pretty late for public figures to be "first" calling the Iraq War a disaster. I looked up Bacevich who nobody has ever heard of and his statement was even later, in 2007, and even that was a walk back from his pre-war prediction:

It's funnier when you remember that Howard Dean and John Kerry were both running for President in 2003 pretty much saying the Iraq War was a disaster and if elected the next year they would seek to end it.

As he reminds us regularly, John led the anti-war movement not only against Iraq but also against Afghanistan, but not only did he never notice any anti-Semitism he has to go all the way to 2005 (or 2007) to find the "first people" to call Iraq a disaster. Sticking just to politicians who have run for President, both Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich were against both Afghanistan and Iraq. John's never heard of them despite being a leading anti-war protester and long-time online nerd.

The more I think about John's nonsensical "moderate" argument, the more clear it becomes how absurd and internally contradictory it is.

P1. Troons like Big Al Craballo, Eli Erlick, Tony Reed and others are problematic extremists.

P2. Troons who got a stinkditch and FFS like me are okay.

The seemingly obvious problem with John's retarded argument is that almost the entire population of P1 and P2 are exactly the same. John's very poorly reasoned "policy" places the problematic troons into the "acceptable" category by default.

I would also add that P2 is incredibly misogynistic for a "important feminist" like John because it places natal females in the unaccpetable category by default.

So how is that supposed to work?
