From a 3D printer enthusist:
Its less important now but if you had the space and money there was cause.

One would make smoother prints, one was better at tight tolarances, one could run multiple types of filaments, one had tighter layer 'depth', one had better software for scanning objects, one had interchangeable heads with adjustable temperatures, one could swap head and do light C&C work, two were resin printers - one was fast but small prints, one was slower but had a bigger bed., and if you had a big project or making multiple prototypes you could run in parallel instead of in series with multiple print beds.

with recent printers the print head thing/filament tolerances are much less important because of improvements, a mid-range printer today is better than his (non-resin) printers at their specialized tasks, but its still nice to have the through-put when you make something big. For the average person who isn't trying to engineer prototypes for actual engineering projects there is no reason to buy specialized printers.

We know none of this applies to John.

I love how he complains that coming out has brought him so much misery. No one cares - most people figured out he was trans already. The problem is that he came out of the gate expecting to be declared the Godzilla of amholes and started dictating how everyone should behave.
