I doubt either is gonna give a damn about Wu wanting shit taken down. He'd have to have a good legal reason to have it removed, and just because it might embarrass his ass is not good enough.

I think you don't need backchannels there, they just take down anything you ask them to. That's why the other archive sites had to be invented.

Well, they'll delete sites you own for sure, but I doubt he has the pull to get Twitter page results pulled, since those tweets were archived on a site he doesn't own and Twitter would have to request the takedown.

As for what we have archived, more than enough, damned near everything that would be politically fatal, and we're still archiving to this day.

I think he's going to start purging the account regularly for exactly that reason.
Deleting everything was actually a decently smart move, because it would take a large staff to read through his entire Twitter history and flag the damaging parts. And even though we have archives, it'll put off the (many) lazier journalists who won't go past the official Twitter. Credit where credit's due.

EDIT: Actually, there is one way to get journalists to understand deleted tweets. We should look into Politwoops if Wu actually becomes a candidate:

Credit where it is due, but he was very foolish to wait this long, and there is more than enough non Twitter crap he can't bury that will come back to haunt him anyway.

And what he can't delete is the number of tweets on his account. While the tweets are gone, the amount he posted is not, so if anyone brings up an archived tweet later that is embarrassing, he looks even worse for trying to hide it, so he's retroactively handed any future enemies a dagger to twist in his back by doing this.
