Would Brianna Wu count as the first SJW to run for office?
The Democratic Party used to be full of proto-SJWs. "Genderspecial" hadn't gone mainstream yet, but back in the 80s/90s there were plenty of unironic advocates for political correctness, militant racial politickers, and stereotypical "damn hippie" radical environmentalists in the party. Bill Clinton's famous "Sister Souljah moment" was when they finally got shoved aside for a generation in favor of actually governing.

EDIT: and on a related note, I'd also venture that the SJW phenomenon itself isn't really new at all. There have been pockets of that stuff in academia for a long time; the only thing new nowadays is that their rhetoric got picked up as a convenient weapon by the internet.

Someone needs to ask Wu who she's going to bring onboard as an advisor on trans issues.
There is only one "woman" who knows all about trans issues and selflessly dedicates "her" time and energy to ensure that they live to fight another day.

Starting in 2017 I'm going to start planning my PAC. I'm on-boarding @Jaimas for Chief Information Officer, @Ninja_Warrior as Chief Data Analyst, and @Internet War Criminal as Chief Strategist. We're either going to run a smear campaign using embarrassing clips like him saying "the Internet ruined my life!!", or advertise in promotion of Wu but use really embarrassing clips ranting about GamerGate and hailing them as amazing feats of strength that Boston voters should totally care about. I can't decide which would be funnier.
Have you thought of a name for your PAC? How about Keeping Individuals Well-Informed?

At what point does Wu have to piss or get off the pot on this? It's too early for anyone to formally declare their candidacy yet, but there must be a point at which her mentioning running for office on her Patreon will count as soliciting funds for a political campaign and when she must provide information about her (and maybe Frank's) finances.

There was a rumour earlier this year that sarkeesian was going to move into politics, now that gamergate had been rinsed... interestingly if true, twonks like harper would of hoped to jump onto that gravy/sjw party train..

except they forgot about wu...

I said it before, will say it again:
Wu will ride the "going to Congress train" and fueling it with loads of Franks money until she realizes, that she missed a important deadline to put her name on the ballots. After that she will claim that GooberGabba sabotaged her and she will ride that train until she's 50.
Even if she somehow manages to put her name on the lists, and we can see her mug snarling from roadside posters down on the normal Joe, she will still loose and then blame GamerGate/the Alt-Right....

Add:
...and yes she will still be droning on about GamerGate and the Alt-Right in 2018/19.

It's entirely possible that she's already past that point, and just doesn't know it. While I am assuredly not an expert on this, the FEC's guide for congressional candidates says that:

Campaigning (as opposed to testing the waters) is apparent, for example, when individuals:
• Make or authorize statements that refer to themselves as candidates (“Smith in 2016” or “Smith for Senate”);
• Use general public political advertising to publicize their intention to campaign;
• Raise more money than what is reasonably needed to test the waters or amass funds (seed money) to be used after candidacy is established;
• Conduct activities over a protracted period of time or shortly before the election; or
• Take action to qualify for the ballot.

The important bit being that while you are "testing the waters", the $5000 threshold to trigger registration doesn't apply, but once you are "campaigning", it does. And once you reach it, you have 15 days to file with the FEC the information about your campaign committee, including designating a treasurer who is *personally* responsible for compliance with campaign finance restrictions...

I would imagine that more than a few joke candidates were technically in violation of this shit at some point, but nobody cares. But they usually don't get serious mentions on CNN and TheHill.

My English teacher said it best: Culture is a pendulum that is always swinging. We are watching one side attempt to force it to a hyper regressive side, but the push back, the swing back to the other side, has already started.

I'll admit, after all this super intense PC culture, I am fully okay with dealing with another 90's "dark and edgy" timeframe.

I would even say that after the dawn of social media the pendulum has sped up considerably. The first modern SJWs emerged from the primordial sludge of social media in 2011 and mere 5 years later they are the favorite laughing stock of the internet.

I don't know what exactly made you think your feed was interesting before, John.

If she claims GamerGate harassed her and the police/FBI did nothing while she's campaigning, she's gonna get heavily slammed when the FBI responds with releasing that report to all news outlets.
