There are so many versions now I suspect not even Wu knows what the truth is.

Speaking of Warren, I remember he was always bitching that he'd set up phone time for John to talk to a group or a person with electoral/financial heft, and John would flake out on actually doing the calls. John probably spent about 8 hours total talking to people on the phone over the whole length of his campaign.

Squaring up perpetual victimhood with the image of desirability and popularity is one of the most common if not the most common narcissistic trait. This is why he's always seething at pooners and non-white troons and anyone who can take away the attention from him, the main character.

He probably knows the sad truth but at the same time he's an unrepentant egomaniac that believes that his constant lies is actual proof of having a silver tongue.

Ya know, it just dawned on me that John is insisting he can't do politics because of the strain it would put on his voice. So...instead his idea is to start a video channel where he'll presumably be doing podcast discussion style videos. Which, you know, heavily involves talking. Even if you're doing live-style commentary and don't have to worry about multiple takes and the like, you're still dedicating a significant amount of time to just talking in front of a camera. And that's on top of whatever other random podcasts and video's Wu is still inexplicably a part of.

This correlates very well with the dissolution of Socially Unconscious Productions and the end of Wu's brief stint living in DC, so I think we can consider that confirmed.
Wu took the first steps on the road to trannification in June/July of 2005, a whole 3 years later as per the Ode to John.

Even now Wu can't bring herself to mention the age at which she started the process (28) I suppose because it would be quite difficult to reconcile that with a fervent belief all your life that you were a girl.

I would love to know how John tells the difference between a real troon and a fake one. Because they literally all tell this story. They will all tell you that they always knew they were a girl, even while they were playing He-Man or joining the army or beating their wives.

Now it makes for a neater story. Going straight from rehab to transition gives a direct narrative through-line. “My life was a mess because I was living a lie,” as opposed to “Transitioning was just another way I tried to deal with being a useless, lazy fuckup.”

I know it’s a fake story and all, but what does he mean “tried?” He got to the point where he had the gun in his mouth and just missed his head entirely? “I thought about it and decided not to” is not the same as attempting suicide, John.
