The few times I've had to call Tech support on stuff it's always been funny/awkward when I go "I've already tried doing the turn it off and back on again thing, leaving a good two minutes inbetween, just to be sure" then heard a really really long pause and series of clicks as the guy desperately tries to get past that part of the script.

No fucking way did Brianna Wu keep her mouth shut and listen to another person talk for two hours. I've seen those panel videos, she can't even listen to another person talk for five minutes without wanting to bring the attention back on herself or fuck about on her phone.

Not only did Wu just happen to meet a woman who knows a lot of shit about local politics and the people involved by accident, that woman also had the time and patience to slowly explain a snarling ghoul that sort of stuff for two hours.
If that person really exists, it was that crazy cat lady from down the street, who does noting but write complaint letters all day.

They're talking down to you because they fucking hate you, and you're the enemy.
See, working in a call center is a shitty job. It's long hours, shit pay, and you put up with uneducated, entitled assholes all day. After a few months of doing this, your heart crystallizes into a blackened hunk of obsidian through which no love can penetrate.
It's not that they're talking down to you because they're sexists who think you're stupid. It's that being shitty to their mouthbreathing fuckwit customers is the only thing currently staving off their workplace shooting spree.
