He might be trying to get in on the "I'm one of the good ones" grift, where a flagrantly AGP man admits he's AGP so he can get narcissistic supply from conservatives and TERF talk shows and shit. Blair White has been riding this grift pretty successfully for many years now. Debbie Hayden was another crazy man who found some e-fame with this. There was also that really creepy old guy who showed up to a conference in a TERRIFYING blue dress - I forgot his name.
What John doesn't get it that his timing for that grift is off. Several of the "good ones" tipped their hands and showed themselves to be just as awful as the other ones, so that grift is fading. Trans-skeptics are becoming a lot more hard-line - the "true trans" argument is popping up less and less and basically everyone is getting tired of these men.

It means he regrets transitioning for purely sexual reasons because now that he is in his 40s he can't get his goon on over wearing women's clothes properly anymore and wishes he hadn't centered his entire life around living out his sexual fetish.
 
You can tell it's a man from a mile away, he's not fooling anyone. I wonder if this is one of those things where he's trying to convince himself more than he's trying to convince his audience. How much of troon psychology is governed by this complex that says "I don't care how much others actually believe I am what I say I am, just as long as they pretend well enough so I can go about my day without others reminding me of the sex I was born into."?
 
I enjoy seeing people eaten by their terrible creations. Before Brianna Wu gained notoriety, a tranny was an expensive car part. He is sanctimonious toward young coomers coming up with the impression that being trans is all amholes and slumber party pillow fights and validation, but I would venture to guess he was not so different when he was that age.

With the wisdom of age I think he has started to see the truth, only to realize that Trandora’s Box is not closed as easily as it is opened. Now he gets to beg on social media for everyone to relax a bit as he watches thousands of young men and women permanently disfigure themselves with the knowledge that he paved the way for the blighted community that these young people are a part of. Sometimes the most oppressive prisons are the ones we build for ourselves.

Eh, I dig it. I know that John is a politician at heart and is liable to turn towards the direction the wind's blowing, but at least for now he's saying mostly the truth.

Great point regarding aging as an AGP troon. Pinkpilled teens and young adults need to hear that. They will age, they'll get the funny tranny turtle neck, their moobs will sag, they'll get health problems, and it'll get harder and harder to deny what's right in front of their eyes. Some will try to go back to being a man only to find out that they either don't know how because they just skipped a whole lot of male adulthood. For others it'll be more horrifying, as they realise that they're a man with a mangled and tangled mess where their genitals should be; doomed to forever leak girlsharts from their amhole.

However, I'll add that you should NEVER transition, because John is obviously going to be milquetoast on that. There's no scenario in the universe where transitioning won't lead to regret, social isolation, and health problems. Work on whether you're pornsick, whether you're autistic, whether you're just a man with a bunch of traditionally feminine interests (I can guarantee you it's not all of them). As I like to put it, if you're seeing a woman playing Warhammer or HOI4 that's not a woman, that's a man.
