Probably trying to distract attention from the fact that he looks like a balding, middle-aged man who's going to fat.

Instead of wasting money on having his vocal cords shaved, he needs to get Frank to spring for a major hair transplant. A few sessions with a decent cosmetic dentist wouldn't hurt either.
 
The FBI is totally going to investigate into people disagreeing with you online. There's no greater threat to American security.

My guess would be that it's because all of the major cows are malignant narcissists who believe that every law enforcement agency on the planet exists to serve their wishes and who see everyone who ridicules them -- or even disagrees with them -- as a criminal. If Flynt/Wu weren't so self-absorbed, he would realize that his ludicrous ravings about the FBI put him in the same category as Shaner, who can at least plead in mitigation and extenuation that he has an IQ in the 70s.

You have to be seriously fucked in the head to actually think the FBI is backing some guy with barely any connection to politics until now.

The Clintons are a different story.
