Just seen this part from a R60 Playthrough and it's a total MGS3 ripoff.

(I find Holiday's scream hilarious tbh fams)

I used this bloke's videos to go through and see exactly what the special edition adds that makes it worth five bucks. There are exactly two new scenes.
This one, where Holiday examines dead catgirls and asks Amelia about the station:

That one lasts about 3 minutes.

The second is this one where Amelia fights Crimson and we have the "hilarious" sexualised outfits joke.

That's roughly 2 minutes long.

Unless I missed anything, the DLC costs a dollar per minute of cutscene.

I thought Holiday was the self insert.
Nah unkown/Val is based off Brea Anatamata which is a John era character design and where Bri got their female name from and even dressed like on occasion.

Not sure what the deal is with holiday, guess she's the Sonichu in all this. But Unknown is the self insert, suddenly makes a lot more sense why she was on all the icons and everything when you realise this.

Always got the feeling Wu doesn't really like Holiday that much, she always came across as an annoying dumb twat in the Socially Unconscious.

John really doesn't like his chin....that's a terrible bit of photoshopping.

I'm happy @tepid put this photoshop monstrosity next to Brianna's animated monstrosities. Just further illustrates my point about how all of the Rev60/SocCon characters are what she believes the perfect image of a woman is and, man, is Wu's idea of women super fucked up.

Right on with Val/Unknown being Brea Anatamata. If I can play armchair psychologist, I imagine that the reason this character dies is because Brianna no longer needs Brea to be her escapist fantasy - she's turned herself into that now.

Or now has a new fantasy she's going for and that's where I think Holiday comes in. With each of these characters being what Brianna sees as a ideal for her, Holiday is the badass biker chick who is attractive, assertive, and competent. Of all the SocCon characters, she's the one whose character has changed the most from the previous version and I think it's due to Wu no longer wanting to be the hot party girl. As an aside and to help support my point about Holiday being her new fantasy, I think the reason she keeps having that messy ponytail is because she is trying to do the scrotum hair.

You know, I just took a look back through "Election Eve", and Brea actually dated a character named "John" who was the roommate (read: houseboy) of Brea, Holiday, and Lani

John…her on and off boyfriend from back at Bishop. There had been a lot of times Brea had thought that he would be the one. But that was a long, long time ago.

“John’s really someone that I think needs to stay in the past,” reflected Brea
And John clumsily went back and edited the "John" character later, giving him the name and appearance of Darien from "Sailor Moon" :story: But he didn't actually replace the names everywhere, so you can tell what happened.

Heh, that's amazing.

I've never looked in to the drafts very closely. I wonder if it's possible just from the various documents to determine the precise date John stopped wanting people to think he was dating Lauren Milovy, and changed to wanting people to think he was Lauren Milovy.

There definitely seems to have been some sort of change in his thinking during the Ole Miss period. He genuinely did seem at one point to want people to believe he totally had a girlfriend who went to another school.

That was John's autistic version of "I have a Canadian girlfriend."

The jump-spin the player character does during those combat grid things is identical to the female blood elf jump-spin in WoW. Wu doesn't have an original thought in her head.
Speaking of flashy jumps, the most egregious ripoff that I noticed is at the beginning when Holiday jumps off of the disabled aircraft and creates a blue barrier that slows her descent, which, again, directly mirrors several scenes in Mass Effect. What's worse, it's an ability that is given no in-game explanation and never comes up again, so there is no excuse to have it in the game other than so Wu could feel like he made a Mass Effect game.

You know what? There are so many direct ripoffs in this game, someone should put together a video showing everything side by side with the original reference. That would be pretty funny.

Brea is obviously a rip off of Aya Brea from Parasite Eve. The logo for John's swipe even looks like the logo for Parasite Eve.

Speaking of Mass Effect, let's not forget that Holiday's outfit is Miranda's but green.

John Flynt is a man who sexualizes and fetishes women and know harasser from his Missou days. He complains about men who sexualize and fetishize women while harassing them

Ali Rapp complains about creepy dudebros while living in a basement apartment doing nothing all day but buying hentai video games and waifu pillows

Chelsea van Valkenwhatever complains about people harassing others on the Internet using private informations spent years on the chans and SA harassing others and doxxing them and built a whole network dedicated to it

Randi Harpoon complains that people always eat the last slice while she eats the whole damn pizzeria

In case you haven't noticed they are all self-hating self-righteous hypocrites with massive cases of "it's different when I do it"
