...and was written by the Wachowski ̶b̶r̶o̶t̶h̶e̶r̶s̶ siblings (who, by the way, have definitely imitated the career path of M. Night Shyamalan)
In a movie with lots of physical conflict they managed to not kill Sean Bean. I think that says it all.

Since Brianna is so interested in Alexis Arquette:

In 2013, amid increasing health complications, Alexis began presenting herself as a man again, telling Ibrahim that “'gender is bullshit.’ That 'putting on a dress doesn’t biologically change anything. Nor does a sex-change.’ She said that 'sex-reassignment is physically impossible. All you can do is adopt these superficial characteristics but the biology will never change.’”

The only reasons Wu would have to talk up this movie, aside from her well-documented tendency to say she loves the things most people hate, is that it has a female protagonist and was written by the Wachowski ̶b̶r̶o̶t̶h̶e̶r̶s̶ siblings (who, by the way, have definitely imitated the career path of M. Night Shyamalan)
She loves it because the Wachowskis are trans and if you don't like it, you're a big fat transphobe.

I really hate this "it was made by [group of people], therefore I must enjoy and support it"-attitude.
How many times have we seen junk receive praise merely for the novelty of [minority] being somewhat linked to the final product.
From recent movie bombs such as Ghostbusters to things like Bioware games a couple years ago.
"It contains [group of people], therefore it's untouchable for criticism!"

Instead of doing the sensible thing and supporting good movies without having a bias, they'll shill the fuck out of garbage for the pure novelty of it pandering to some inane view on gender politics or race identity or anything.
And it wouldn't be so bad if this wasn't actually hurting the thing they claim to support.
By mindlessly shilling for lackluster projects, they don't help anyone, all they do is signalling that being -say- trans means that the bar will always lowered in your favor to a point of meaninglessness.

You mean as in:
Code:
TapsNeeded = 100;
or
Code:
FillGaugePercentPerTap = 1;
;)
Is this a joke?
Since brianna uploaded some sort of developer version of the game it's quite possible that the entire game can be decompiled to source. Has someone done this then?

Yes Analysis of Algorithms is a tough course that you never took bri. Lucky for you today's typical dev need to learn little more than to recognize when they are in hot water and what to type into google and stack exchange. How does she decide they're all excellent anyhow?
Do you think PSU WIPE / kiwifarms.net drives enough clicks to even be noticed by Google?

Actually google indexes this site frequently and often will be the first hit for short phrases that were only recently uttered here.

Funny you should mention that. I remember when Peter David (comic book writer) was bitching on Twitter about how Jupiter Ascending bombing at the box office was a "sign" that "nobody wants originality" in movies anymore (as I believe it got 'beat' at the box office by an Adam Sandler movie or something that weekend) and basically went on a screed about why people should support original material solely because it's original/new. Well, the thing is this: people DO want originality in movies (and by extension video games, comics, and television), believe it or not, but they also want something that's good and/or well-written. See for example the Cultural Phenomenom of the Summer that was Stranger Things: it might've been a pastiche of several things, but it somehow managed to be its own thing and resonate with a fuckton of people for some reason.

Besides, from my understanding, Jupiter Ascending has a general concept that would've been better benefitted by being a 8-13 episode television series that the Wachowskis should have made instead of Sense8, because trying to cram all that world building and lore into a 2-odd hour movie is just waaaaay too much for the audience to handle. Plus, The Matrix worked, because it gave you just enough lore and world building without being too overwhelming, but had enough standalone material to become lightning in a bottle at the time when there was nothing else like it out there.

So no, it doesn't surprise me that Bri only likes Jupiter Ascending solely because the Wachowskis are both transgender. Then again, expecting Bri to actually take a critical look at something beyond superficial elements is pointless.
